Eh, not exactly. Muscle hypertrophy = muscle gain
Basically you can gain weight in muscle as well as fat

For instance, I'm 53, and most of that weight is in muscle mass

well you need energy and substance to convert to muscle
And the process isn't 100%
So you need fat to build muscle with

I lost my weight purely though fasting and intense execise
yeah thats a good way to lose weight. not gain muscle but yeah
There are people who lose it though diet or starving themselves
And they have tons of loose skin
It works, but it's not healthy
then eat for your wourkout
I do weight training mostly now
and cardio on alternate days
I sold my car and ride a bike everywhere
nice, minus hwen it rains
i just walk everywhere
luckily i have the time for it
Lol I don't need a bike since I walk everywhere too
And incorporate dynamic/static stretching when I'm not biking
i just program, and lift weights 😛
But I don't have a lot of places to go
I have rain gear. It's not too bad.
Just college, restaurant, library, hostel
ok thats good jsut gotta be careful round corners and drivers
With the right gear, you can bike anywhere and arrive dry
and sometimes the movies
rain brings out the bad in bad drivers
so theyre much worse
