He's on the youtubes again?
wow that was a pretty awful argument.
read: my players are very lucky at rolling and i'm pissed at it
The Harmful Opinions one.
Meh, I could see a DM doing that.
Some people think good persuasion is mind control.
They're wrong.
Isn't there a spell that makes them stupid?
Combine that with high persuasion and you can make people in zombies.
But that's not really the same thing.
true.
still, entertaining Vee annoyed him enough to have him make this video
but the solution is simple "well done, you have persuaded him to do something. now pick what that is because your thing so far is out side the realm of sense"
I kind of agree with Sargon on the point of some requests are more difficult than others, and if it's not possible to persuade them they should just be told you can't make a check for that.
Like if you asked me to sell you my nephew there's nothing you could say to make me do that.
It doesn't matter how persuasive you are.
no one can scare you into doing it?
I think it's fine to do. A good roll gets your point across better, so they understand your position better.
No one can scare me more than his father, no.
And in some cases you may not be able to convince a person, but maybe over a month or two of trying to convince them it may sway them
still, i can see that point. you can still let them try then go "okay, you got a 20. he's not doing that. pick something else, or you move on"
eventually they get the point.
No I think just "You can't do that" before the roll is better.
Pick somethign else.
Na i agree with sargon there.
Like if I told you to sell your nephew you'd just be like "No. what is wrong with you", but if I got a great roll to convince you a demon will destroy the village you may be like "No. I understand your concerns now and think you're crazy".
@Dennafen but its so much more fun to let them roll then go "good job. did nothing."
