Yeah, I wonder how they drew their sample for that survey. As for soy, I don't get the animosity surrounding it in some communities. The few studies I've found that show negative effects deal with obscenely high levels of soy consumption. Seems like soy protein isolate is in a lot of junk food. Is that what you're referring to?
Soybean oil is also fairly pervasive, I think. Basically, I try to avoid the super-processed forms that are devoid of nutrients. I'm not worried about edamame and tofu.

@Chijohnaok Yeah, the inconsistency bugs me. I wasn't aware of the jihadist stuff, but there's a lot of gory content available. Up-close-and-personal surgeries. How-to-field-dress-a-deer videos. And did they ever remove those disturbing finger family songs? I saw a handful of her videos, and only one included some animal cruelty footage. A couple of them had to do with exercise. Wacky, yes, but I can't imagine what was so in violation of YT's Terms of Service, given the stuff that's still on the site.

I watched that yesterday. Not really a gamer here, but it resonated, because the same goes for certain movie reviews. People have to be able to get out of their heads sometimes, and it's frustrating to see various forms of recreation judged by whether or not they provide a particular commentary on the state of the world.
Yeah, it feels like everything is being critiqued to death. Maybe we should steer clear of reviews for a while. ๐

That was a very interesting podcast, I thought, especially when they were talking about modding, the statistical breakdown of men and women who play different types of video games, and how accommodating games should be in terms of demographics. Also, how all of this relates to the culture at large - the James Damore memo, for instance.

After hearing the pronunciation of "syzygy," I still say "rural" tops the list when it comes to unwieldy terms. ๐
That one's actually familiar to me, because I took a medical terminology class years ago. Ear/nose/throat specialist, right? A lot of syllables, yes, but "rural" is just too awkward. I can't think of anything that compares, lol.
