@Schedrevka Very much so. Same is true of gay men and straight women. What we find attractive overlaps a lot, but there's some qualities that I find attractive in women that most men give zero shits about.

It's kind of always been that way. Nothing new. Just more focus on it now because it's the "least gay" of all the LGBT orientations. Like, the amount of people who have said to me, "You've dated a trans person, therefore you're not bi, you're pansexual" is ridiculous.

For me , Q was supposed to be Questioning. Someone who knew they weren't straight, but hadn't quite figured it out yet. Queer I don't understand at all. I don't like the word.

I would have loved a "questioning" identity in high school. I thought I was a lesbian for several years before I came to terms with my bisexuality. I felt like I had to choose, and so I accidentally became of those "pretendbians" that lesbians hate so much. I didn't give myself time to figure it out and the community was so "supportive" that it actually ended up pressuring me into picking a label for myself that didn't really fit.

I'm concerned as well about young people transitioning. I had a girl ask me if I was a trans guy because I listen to heavy metal, wear t-shirts and jeans, and have short hair. The fact that I have always identified as a woman was an afterthought, I guess. The idea of just being doing stuff not affiliated with your gender is kind of a foreign concept now.

There are absolutely personality traits associated with men and women, but those are on average. And averages are useless for describing individual people. No one is going to be perfectly average in everything.

Well, LGBT also has the unique problem of being a group that identifies itself by what it isn't rather than what it is. The only thing required to be LGBT is to be not straight. Which groups people who have very different interests, needs, and concerns under one umbrella.

The same is said of "POC." All that's required is to be "not white." You see a lot of the same issues crop up when you're talking about "POC issues"

@Crimsom Lots of us feel that way. I'm sick of having to pretty much worship trans women because they're the "cool kids" right now. I just want to wear gaudy rainbow shit, dance to techno music, kiss women and men, and maybe find a spouse someday. The problem is more realistic if you have one with more work experience but with an abrasive personality that might affect your other employees versus one who you know would get along better at the office but is less qualified.

Charlottesville boils down to one main thing: horrifically mismanaged crowd-control by local law enforcement. The fact that people had loaded weapons and flamethrowers shows that they weren't doing any or were doing a piss poor job at checking for weapons.

Also, the car guy lined his car up with the crowd ahead of time. Whether his car was attacked or not, he went there to cause trouble as indicated by his texts ahead of time, had a history of violence, and he aimed it at the crowd before being confronted.

Second degree murder is a pretty serious charge and not one that most prosecutors would risk gambling a loss on.
