Hiring based on how it will look, instead of how it will BE, is always fucked up.

2018-08-12 00:15:37 UTC

It's bias for sure but I wouldn't see it as that bad as hiring purely on race basis

2018-08-12 00:15:47 UTC

I have no patience to pretend otherwise.

2018-08-12 00:16:09 UTC

Because at that point, it is due to who would interact with me more xD

2018-08-12 00:16:37 UTC

Now, if they can speak chinese and like anime, then whoever i can talk more with xD

2018-08-12 00:16:54 UTC

But then again... if their qualifications are all equal

2018-08-12 00:16:56 UTC

👌

2018-08-12 00:17:00 UTC

If all things are equal (Which is probably 1 in 5000 at the most) go by the culture you think they're from. Culture largely determines what people will have as a work ethic.

2018-08-12 00:17:04 UTC

it's not what you know it's who you know

2018-08-12 00:17:07 UTC

and rike

2018-08-12 00:17:14 UTC

discriminating on the basis of liking anime or not is pure and moral

2018-08-12 00:17:31 UTC

People like to call nepotism 'networking' these days.

2018-08-12 00:17:36 UTC

Anime>no anime

2018-08-12 00:17:39 UTC

And get gravely offended you point it out.

2018-08-12 00:17:47 UTC

@Senny well i got racist because i wont hire black over asian if all things equal

2018-08-12 00:18:01 UTC

Which is in of itself racist xD

2018-08-12 00:18:15 UTC

But he circled around his own question

2018-08-12 00:18:18 UTC

It's because you're focusing upon their skin color with the absence of information, rather than culture.

2018-08-12 00:18:24 UTC

Because i called him out on it also

2018-08-12 00:18:47 UTC

no anime > trash anime

2018-08-12 00:19:14 UTC

@Beemann blasphemer. a trash waifu > no waifu

2018-08-12 00:19:17 UTC

Bad is worse than none.

2018-08-12 00:19:19 UTC

@Maw yes, because it all things equal you are not saying the other is inferior

2018-08-12 00:19:39 UTC

your're waifu a shit

2018-08-12 00:19:45 UTC

well it can be called racist but it's more racial bias.. it's actually observed phenomenon in hiring, I won't say either is in the right there

2018-08-12 00:20:08 UTC

I grew up being taught racism is stereotypes based on skin colour/immutable assets.

2018-08-12 00:20:10 UTC

( if all things equal )

2018-08-12 00:20:25 UTC

So, flip a coin?

2018-08-12 00:20:30 UTC

Pretty much

2018-08-12 00:21:01 UTC

People should be allowed to show up for interviews in hazmat suits.

2018-08-12 00:21:19 UTC

No I'd go and see what their interests are. I will hire a person wearing a Kippah over hiring someone wearing their Alpha Zeta Omega frat T-Shirt.

2018-08-12 00:21:27 UTC

Well i know i have bias, but if one is asian and is an idiot, and the other is black and is smart. I would pick the black person xD

2018-08-12 00:21:32 UTC

If their qualifications are equal.

2018-08-12 00:21:51 UTC

THAT'S FRATERNITY BIAS REEE

2018-08-12 00:22:00 UTC

DUDEBRO BIAS

If you have two perfectly equal candidates (which never happens anyway) then yeah, flip a coin. The problem is more realistic if you have one with more work experience but with an abrasive personality that might affect your other employees versus one who you know would get along better at the office but is less qualified.

2018-08-12 00:22:49 UTC

Well that is another factor, how is their teamwork

2018-08-12 00:22:52 UTC

always the one who won't stir up shit imho even if he's slightly worse

2018-08-12 00:22:55 UTC

imho
