its the fact that people FEAR that its negative that causes confusion, because they fear that they're different in a bad way
I'm concerned as well about young people transitioning. I had a girl ask me if I was a trans guy because I listen to heavy metal, wear t-shirts and jeans, and have short hair. The fact that I have always identified as a woman was an afterthought, I guess. The idea of just being doing stuff not affiliated with your gender is kind of a foreign concept now.
Eh, I just figure it's dumb to think that what what you're attracted to now will always be the same in the future. Sometimes life gives you surprises. You like what you like now. You like later what you like later. Forcing matters doesn't turn out too well
@Nine exactly
you can't simply like stuff outside your gender roles anymore without being trans
or some bullshit
I've seen it too
feeling emotional is you changing gender at this point
Gender has become synonimous with personality
Which ironically, is pretty transphobic, or at the very least, dismisses the idea that being transgender has a biological component
People place too many ideas on the genders. They aren't stiff programs for your life
"I get angry quickly, So i'm Short FuseGendered"
There are absolutely personality traits associated with men and women, but those are on average. And averages are useless for describing individual people. No one is going to be perfectly average in everything.
Exactly
Heres the thing,
I honestly believe that Gender is the current way to seperate your individuality and uniqueness for these people,
Because they look around themselves and only see people like them, and they wanna be unique
Yeah, it's really weird to see the progressive stance change from 'Boys can like things typically liked by girls' to 'If you like these things you are a girl no matter what'.
Because none of them dare/want any special skills etc, cuz thats them outperforming others
and being the useless victim gives them pity, and an easier time
Genders have general proclivities, not distinctions
I agree, and it must be awful for the people who don't fall into that catagory, and really do just want to fit into society in a role they're more comfortable in
Well, LGBT also has the unique problem of being a group that identifies itself by what it isn't rather than what it is. The only thing required to be LGBT is to be not straight. Which groups people who have very different interests, needs, and concerns under one umbrella.
The same is said of "POC." All that's required is to be "not white." You see a lot of the same issues crop up when you're talking about "POC issues"
but being gay or lesbian means you have to be male or female
unless you're for freedom, then you're no longer a PoC but a white supremacist
PoC? Piece of crap ? Pickers of Cotton ?
Piece of Cheese
mmmm cheese
Perpetually obsessed complainers
colored people
...wait
A gay friend of mine hates it when people call him “part of the LGBT community”. He doesn’t care about politics trans people or lesbians. He just wants to stick dick in man hole and that’s enough for him.
das racisi @angeryer
But its also this defeatist attitude to life,
"Oh I like <some skill> But i'm bad at it so i don't bother to get better"
I hope he suceeds
@Crimsom and his right to stick dick in a man hole should be respected
Exactly.
unless said man hole is off limits!
cuz the owner of said hole isn't a poofter
just not my manhole
@Crimsom Lots of us feel that way. I'm sick of having to pretty much worship trans women because they're the "cool kids" right now. I just want to wear gaudy rainbow shit, dance to techno music, kiss women and men, and maybe find a spouse someday. The fact that trans women don't get a lot of action on Grindr isn't something I give a fuck about.
