is this place to post fake news?
how out of date can it be?
hmm
why does it not expand those links ๐ฆ
bad discord
so that article tim mentioned in his last video states:
> There are numerous problems with this study, as Zinnia Jones and Brynn Tannehill detailed in their critiques of an earlier rendition of this same study back when it appeared as a non-peer-reviewed poster in the Journal of Adolescent Health.
Brynn claims in his critique: https://www.advocate.com/commentary/2018/2/20/rapid-onset-gender-dysphoria-biased-junk-science
> The abstract concludes that โrapid onset gender dysphoriaโ is dangerous, real, and is caused by interactions with friends and people on the internet. This conclusion is based on some rather heroic leaps of logic.
This is however nowhere in the actual abstract's conclusion or the rest of it: https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0202330
> Rapid-onset gender dysphoria (ROGD) describes a phenomenon where the development of gender dysphoria is observed to begin suddenly during or after puberty in an adolescent or young adult who would not have met criteria for gender dysphoria in childhood. ROGD appears to represent an entity that is distinct from the gender dysphoria observed in individuals who have previously been described as transgender. The worsening of mental well-being and parent-child relationships and behaviors that isolate AYAs from their parents, families, non-transgender friends and mainstream sources of information are particularly concerning. More research is needed to better understand this phenomenon, its implications and scope.
it does not claim it is real - it does not claim it is dangerous - and it does not claim it is caused by interaction with friends and people on the internet
the full conclusion merely speaks to plausibility of an explanation for the data
> The elevated number of friends per friendship group who became transgender-identified, the pattern of cluster outbreaks of transgender-identification in these friendship groups, the substantial percentage of friendship groups where the majority of the members became transgender-identified, and the peer group dynamics observed all serve to support the plausibility of social and peer contagion for ROGD.
the study is not making claims which is not reasonable from the data and methodology AFAICT
IANAS though - but neither is any of the people who "critiqued" the methodology
it seems also that methodology would be a technical aspect which is something which PlosONE does look at
@Dunk Massive lol
whats that cite tim showed that rates fox news green?
so how is this:
- [FBI contradicts Trump claim that China hacked Clintonโs private email server](http://thehill.com/policy/national-security/404192-fbi-denies-trump-claim-that-china-hacked-clintons-private-email)
- [FBI rebuts Trump tweet about China hacking Hillary Clinton's email](https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna904811)
- [FBI rejects fringe report, promoted by Trump, that China hacked Hillary Clinton's emails](https://www.cnbc.com/2018/08/29/fbi-refutes-report-promoted-by-trump-that-china-obtained-hillary-clintons-emails.html)
- [FBI contradicts Trump's claim about Hillary Clinton's emails being hacked by China](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-fbi-hillary-clinton-email-server-china-hack-contradict-a8513581.html)
Direct Quote from FBI:
> "The FBI has not found any evidence the (Clinton) servers were compromised," a bureau official told NBC News.
Original Report:
- [SOURCES: CHINA HACKED HILLARY CLINTONโS PRIVATE EMAIL SERVER](https://dailycaller.com/2018/08/27/china-hacked-clinton-server/)
> A Chinese-owned company penetrated former Secretary of State Hillary Clintonโs private server, according to sources briefed on the matter.
Analysis:
In 2016 the FBI released this statement:
[Statement by FBI Director James B. Comey on the Investigation of Secretary Hillary Clintonโs Use of a Personal E-Mail System](https://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/statement-by-fbi-director-james-b-comey-on-the-investigation-of-secretary-hillary-clinton2019s-use-of-a-personal-e-mail-system)
> [...] we did not find direct evidence that Secretary Clintonโs personal e-mail domain [...] was successfully hacked. But, given the nature of the system and of the actors potentially involved, we assess that we would be unlikely to see such direct evidence. [...]
> [...] Given that combination of factors, we assess it is possible that hostile actors gained access to Secretary Clintonโs personal e-mail account.
So from this, it seems the FBI itself does not think the lack of evidence speaks the the plausabilty of her server being hacked. At the very least - viewed in line with this statement - "The FBI has not found any evidence" does not mean they think it did not happen. It just means they cannot confirm it did.
As the aphorism goes ... Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
Here with more formatting:
Various news outlets claim that FBI not finding evidence of China hacking Clinton servers contradicts the claim that they did.
https://www.reddit.com/r/EnoughFakeNewsSpam/comments/9bnjav/various_news_outlets_claim_that_fbi_not_finding/
To be clear though - I think there is good reason to mistrust the report from the daily caller - but the FBI saying they have no evidence for it is not one of them.
"anonymous sources" is one of them though
@Stefan Payne well they don't - but that is their point
I mean they say they don't expect to find evidence - but go on to say it is possible it happened
so the lack of evidence - by their own word - does not really mean anything
which is why I'm saying that claiming FBI's lack of evidence is a refuation of the Daily Caller's report is not true
is basically what the MSM is doing here
The one positive thing about the culture war is the comedy gold generated by leftists eating their own
@scaryred24 the people who were harrasing him - presumably then they could have been right wing trolls?
@Rabbi Shekels can I somehow get political affiliation tag?
!rank scaryred24
I use reddit a lot - I don't think my political affiliation has ever changed
I am more sympathetic to conservatives than I were before - and have more disdain for the far left than before - but I'm still a liberal
Lang, they have very strict rules on commnets - so each comment takes more time
I think social media might increase your intensity of holding your current position
but not really shifts you on the spectrum - but anyway that is just hypothesis
can only speak for my own subjective observation of myself
social media has made me more bitter and drepressed though
I presume some people do, but it's tough to say how prevalent this is
when I was younger I pretended more to fit in - but that fades with age
though I don't think I ever changed my acutal views to fit in
Lago, there probbably is some truth to that - but now sure how you would support that - I mean presumably you can do some surverys - but will be tough

@Stefan Payne nah just normal stuff from Shapiro - just positing in case someone wants to watch
I walways watch Shpiro ๐
@Stefan Payne nothing new really in there
I think I started watching after that maybe
Ginga, I'm not really a conservative
but what is the concern with him?
I dunno that is just a label ๐
Stefan, do you know douglas murray ?
I like murray a lot - and he calls himself a neocon
I dunno, that does not bother me
Stefan, if you have time try this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmvPfbfzX4U
Ginga, he is pro some intervention definately
he is pro Iraq intervention
Ginga, what is wrong with milirary countracts with Isreal?
Stefan, I agree with that
Ginga, depends on the country I guess
Ginga, well - values matter
Ginga, Isreal's values align more with Shapiro's values than IRan and Egypt
