For the most part yeah, infidelity is too high across the board
I've always seen people say that humans aren't meant for pair-bonding for life but I don't want to believe that, I want to believe that people can still be happy in a monogamous relationship for 60 years or whatever
The idea of a successful 2 person relationship went right down the drain with the values of previous society, it seems
That ad is an attack disguised as positivity. It paints men with a large, broad brush and implies that "If you're upset, you're part of the problem"
A similar ad targeted at women would not go down well either. Imagine an ad showing women committing paternity fraud, gold digging, abusing children, with the message "Be the best you can be, women".
It's already being shown that Gen Z is far more conservative than millennials
It makes sense, even with a condom there's almost always going to be some contact with some kind of bodily fluid
OP has seen too many instances of reddit being reddit essentially
There are places on reddit where defending a man in even the most innocuous of ways will get you downvoted or even banned
I was banned from TwoX for exactly that, basically saying "All men are not rapists and it's understandable they wouldn't like to be painted that way"
I made my reddit account 3 years ago or so and back then you were auto-subbed to TwoX, so naturally when I saw something anti-male pop up on my dash I'd go try and have a conversation
didn't last long
I dunno I was autosubbed to a lot of stuff, /r/pics, /r/aww, /r/dataisbeautiful, I guess the normal stuff reddit slapped onto peoples accounts as a "starter kit"
just so happened to include TwoX
hey, at least we have more subs than /r/feminism
the original link you posted was fafsa ๐ ironically also relevant since men have to sign up for the draft to receive financial aid
I see this "emotional labor" thing pop up more and more and I don't get it. Make up your mind, feminists, are men allowed to talk about their issues or aren't they?
They always argue that men don't talk about their feelings and then when a man seeks some support it's now emotional labor
that's the wildest part about it, it literally is a religion where the only tenet is "woman good"
I spent so much time when I was younger acting as an emotional caretaker for the women in my life, but I never saw it as "labor" because people generally do genuinely appreciate it
Calling it emotional labor just sounds like something a selfish person who doesn't care about anyone but themselves would call it
I've never heard about that, I didn't even exist in the 80s, but there was a time when communal showering was a part of gym class
This is true, I wish men's rights didn't end where double standards in favor of women began
When we argue against the double standards people are so easily able to excuse it as woman hating or wanting to take rights away from women
This is very true, no one wants to be nekkid in front of their school age peers
I've always used turbotax
the problem with them is they want to charge you in order to import your previous year's info, other than that it's good
I've never seen anyone banned from MRA subs for disagreeing, people only get banned for being actual antagonistic jerks
but I have gotten banned from quite a few subreddits by completely totalitarian mods
I got banned from /r/cryptocurrency for literally saying "now that bitcoin is crashing, maybe GPU prices will settle down" because crypto mining had doubled/tripled the price of graphics cards
I don't know about shadowbanning but I know if you get banned for a post generally you'll get an inbox
I hear a lot of people who post in mensrights are shadowbanned from a lot of subs automatically
I don't even go on /r/all anymore
did you come here through reddit?
/r/all is basically a page that shows the currently top voted threads from a bunch of different subreddits, even stuff you didn't subscribe to
it usually just ends up being a lot of political propaganda
p!pokemon
The comments on the original thread it was crossposted from are fucking awful
I have a load of sympathy for actual rape victims but even if the guy did do it a straight up public execution by beating is not okay
It's just a bit excessive, I think it's a bit sociopathic to see someone do something wrong and think "Well, I wish them death or a great deal of pain for the rest of their life"
One of my ex girlfriends was raped while we were together and yeah, I will admit to wanting to rip the guy's head off but would that have undone what he did? Not at all
it was a gift and I think bergmite is adorable
nearing twice as many
I think they're split between several subs though which baffles me
you'd think you'd want people who agree with you to be in the same place?
This is true
I've heard /r/menslib hates /r/mensrights but I haven't gone to menslib and as such don't know what the beef is
The falsifying of statistics and spread of misinformation is what really gets me
My favorite thing is when you ask a feminist "What right do men have that women don't have?" they say something along the lines of "I'm afraid to walk alone at night!"
That's not a right either
No one should feel comfortable walking alone at night honestly, it sounds like a recipe for disaster even for a man
Pretty much, I think I've seen one feminist, ever, argue against circumcision and it blew my mind a bit
As far as I know, women who actually report their rapes almost never watch their rapist go free
Men who report their rapes however....
Funnily enough it seems like feminism is actually about taking away agency and responsibility for women, almost every change they clamor for is effectively something that will make women no longer have to be responsible people
If you're afraid to walk alone at night that's good. That's being responsible for your own safety
Abortions and free birth control stop women from having to be sexually responsible
The "wage gap" myth aims to prevent women from having to make good career choices
I mean yeah, if you target-swap anti-male statements of course it's going to sound closer to racism
There are a number of reasons I see it closer to religion
Feminism is basically a base set of ideals but the individuals are able to interpret and apply those ideals as they see fit, same deal with religion, there's no real consistency from individual to individual
In religion, if you denounce (insert religion's god here) you are to be damned for all eternity. When it comes to feminism, if you denounce their ideals, you might as well be damned
Comparing it to racism is a very good way to point out particular instances of man-hate
But I've never seen a racist be able to excuse themselves by saying "I'm not against black people, I'm just pro white"
("I'm not against men, I'm just pro women")
Jeez man, in the -20s fahrenheit?
do they cancel school and such for conditions like that?
I hope the homeless there are at least able to do get some sort of help
What are the chances women's shelters would open their doors to the men? (I have my suspicions about the answer)
Wow, the person who posted this got a 7 day ban https://www.reddit.com/r/dankmemes/comments/akrkyq/its_sad_but_its_true/
here's the pic for anyone who doesn't want to follow the link
I just read a bit about it, it does make sense in a way. Such a thing could create weird loopholes in legislation that is already gendered
"the ERA could be used to justify taxpayer-funded abortion because 'only women can be pregnant, (and) therefore denial of abortion funding is sex-oriented discrimination.'"
I wonder how it would affect men-specific rights like circumcision
Abortion is already effectively legal in all US states, it's just a matter of availability
Some states make it more difficult because they can't outright outlaw it but they can make it harder to get
You're right though, it doesn't make sense for it to be tax-funded
Not being able to have kids is already the way people start out, funnily enough. They're meant to have about 14 years to learn some sense before they're physically able to produce a child
it doesn't really work like that though
Pretty much, realistically the idea should be to make it *more* likely that children have both parents, not create a new way for children to only have one parent
This is what I support. Men should have a birth control option that is not condoms or abstinence
Female birth control is already relatively inexpensive (about 50 bucks a month, 1/16th the price of the average abortion)
I think the pharmaceutical industry would jump at the opportunity to charge men for something on the long-term like birth control, honestly
Eh honestly I want something studied and approved by the FDA, I'm not super willing to risk 18 years of financial responsibility on what amounts to a home remedy
Wouldn't the government jump at the chance to reduce accidental children and thus state dependence?
I would just honestly ask what's going on, tell her it's unusual and suspicious
Like if you want answers, be honest and ask for answers, whatever you get back will help you determine if she's actually mentally ill or just stressed or something
Probably not the case but I have seen it happen before where a woman will get herself into some sort of trouble (financially, for example) and start desperately reaching out to male acquaintances. Someone she can seduce is someone who will rescue her
Then that makes the fact that she's sending pictures and hitting on you even weirder
I can understand being lonely but it seems a bit weird to reach out to people you haven't talked to in years to satisfy your own loneliness
I mean if I haven't talked to someone in literal years I don't think it'd be fair to them to contact them with expectations
It's not your fault man, I very seriously doubt that if the situation were reversed she would be feeling guilty about turning you down
To quote an argument I've seen used far too often, "You don't owe her anything"
Her friend even saying "She's going to cry" is just an attempt to guilt you and you're letting it work
Moral of the story is you're allowed to say "no" too, and don't let yourself be tricked into believing you're not @Thedemogamer๐
Nothing like some good ol' victim blaming to start the morning off right
Apparently it's mens' fault that no one pays attention when they're sexually assaulted
Men's rights is through, pack it up guys and girls, we can all go home now
