Just the other day I was thinking I'd like to see a mens' rights discord, good to see this here
It definitely is, but I'm a bit skeptical at the part where he says "Once women learn that we have the same emotions but no tears, they'll be compassionate"
Tears are viewed as a display of extreme emotion, and tears are what gets the most compassion and empathy, it seems subconsciously ingrained
That's true, and I like that this video takes a more biological approach to explaining this rather than the typical arguments
Anecdotally it sounds true enough too. Sometimes a scene in a piece of media will hit me particularly hard and squeeze one or two tears out of me, but no more. Extended crying is just not something I'm physically capable of
There's this comment from the OP of that thread that is just... kind of terrifying
"Men raised by feminists turn into violent bigots" Well, perhaps, have you considered *not* indoctrinating them with your ideology that will inevitably make them full of self-hatred?
Reliable male birth control in pill form will be a step in the right direction honestly
Remove the likelihood of accidental children and people will hopefully be more willing to examine the other issues
As it is a woman can lie about being on birth control and entrap a man, remove that power from them though, and who knows what happens
That's interesting that pro-choice feminists would use that argument
It applies to them as well, consent to sex is consent to the possibility of a child so why would they be pro-choice?
"My wallet my choice" is definitely a line I've seen used and it always gets people up in a hissyfit
Education is the most important thing right now, we have to get people on our side before anything is going to change
Ironically, things like the Gillette ad are making a lot of men and some women more sympathetic to our causes
Turns out telling half the population they're terrible people doesn't really sit well
InsaneCaterpilla is right, the main thing right now is to inform people of the issues and that they are *actually* issues, it's difficult though
You have to be prepared to lose friends and family over not just sitting down and shutting up
I've seen women talk about how they're ostracized from their friends because they brought up men's issues
Honestly man I couldn't even begin to count the subreddits I'm banned from, not because I post anything hateful, but because they hate reasonable arguments
Just curious, have there been any trolls in here so far? As in, people joining just to mock the MRM?
I know the subreddit gets a lot of it
Isn't it funny how that is? So many people believe the MRM hates women, but they will jump down your throat at the implication that perhaps they hate men
I don't know, it honestly seems like sex work is becoming more and more something young women are turning toward, with sex cams, "premium snapchats" and hell, even Twitch to an extent
Personally I'd like to see that sort of thing be dis-incentivized, if only to preserve the health of the male-female relationship
Sexual promiscuity shouldn't be incentivized, it's shown to have a dire impact on divorce rates and happiness in relationships
There seems to be a lot of corruption in caretaking in general, there's a lot of elder abuse in old folks' homes as well
That's awful
I get that it's a stressful job, it probably has some negative mental impacts, but that's not okay
I'm in favor of caretakers and police getting regular mental evaluations
Holy hell, I think I'd much rather die before I ever had to be put in one of those places
Pretty difficult to fight a court case while also having to pay child support
That is disgusting, are there no allowances for being *literally physically unable to work*?
Well, shit. That might just be the best excuse I've ever seen to not get anyone pregnant
What would they even do to someone who's comatose and missing child support payments anyway? Cart his body off to court and then to prison? ๐ฌ
Like I realize that's being facetious but how would they even enforce that
That is genuinely awful, imagine the kids being ecstatic just to have their father back from a life threatening situation, and then... boom, he's arrested
Sorry, just curious, what country do you live in? I noticed "mum" so presumably not America
What about the "splitting the property" thing?
Yet he absolutely had "rights" to pay child support for kids he couldn't see... ๐ฌ
The system is so wacky
No one thought to confirm or deny that with you?
That's wild, I would figure someone would have considered to ask you whether or not it was true before they took action against him
Hello
I wouldn't want to go home to someone so conniving. That's awful, is everything okay nowadays?
That's fair, I can see why you'd be drawn to the MRM after seeing all of that BS
Coincidentally (or maybe not so much) most child abuse is done by women
I worry about the relationship between men and women. So many things are causing a rift, from modern day feminism to sex dolls being a growing market. You can look at Japan and see, the man-woman relationship is very quickly dying there. They're in a crisis. I worry that legalizing prostitution will hurt more than it helps.
I can see how it's not a popular sentiment, but what actually happens when any woman is able to legally sell sex?
Will romance die, or will it flourish? Will the average woman lose power or will they gain it? Will promiscuity increase or decrease? If prostitution is legalized, how will that affect child support? Can any poor "John" get slammed with child support then because he had sex with a prostitute?
Every emotion is a chemical reaction but that doesn't mean they don't matter. Our emotions are what give our lives meaning from start to finish
Everyone lives striving toward some sort of happiness or at least contentedness. Companionship goes a long way toward that
It's a large part of the issue, a lot of people aren't privy to men's issues and a lot of people think we just hate women
Getting sympathetic politicians elected would help a lot but as far as I can tell there are practically none
There are a lot of people who legitimately believe that men can't be raped and must have actually wanted it because they were erect ๐ฌ
The biggest part of the issue is that way more women align themselves as feminist than men align themselves as MRA's
Ask an average woman on the street if she's a feminist, she'd say "hell yeah" ask a man on the street if he was an MRA he'd either go "What's that?" or "Is that that thing where men hate women?"
I don't know, I've had to argue with a lot of men about men's issues because they just don't see the issues as actual issues
that article sounds like a delusional 50 Shades fantasy
I read an interesting thing that women nowadays are a fair bit less likely than men to receive CPR because men don't want to touch a stranger who's a woman, even if it's to save her life
or sister
you never know
I am an egalitarian through and through, men just have issues that no one is looking at, which is why I'm here
Feminists always use that argument, "MRA's don't need to exist because feminists fight men's issues too"
But they don't, their idea of a man's issue is "Toxic masculinity hurts men :("
Saying "Feminists care about men's issues because toxic masculinity hurts men" is nothing more than concern trolling
Alternatively toxicity doesn't really need to be gendered because both sexes are equally capable of being a jerk
Before someone was to say toxic masculinity exists I would ask them to define masculinity and then point out what aspects of masculinity are inherently toxic
The problem with "toxic masculinity" is it implies some sort of intent or group responsibility. If men were actually victims of such a thing, calling it "toxic masculinity" would be victim blaming. You know, that thing that gives feminists a collective aneurysm
Man when people insist that toxic masculinity exists admittedly it does get my jimmies rustled, this is why so many men are full of self hatred, because they're told that aspects of their existence are inherently bad
that boy ain't right
If you're not paying $5k at minimum for a hospital visit, that's always something to be thankful for
I know the feeling though @Thedemogamer๐ it's been years and I still get hit with thoughts about my exes sometimes, it doesn't really go away I don't think ๐ฌ
I want to say it's considerate
^ hug grandma
huskies have always been my favorite
it didn't send, dogs are great though
I don't mind cats, I just wish they'd be a little more cuddly when I'm not busy and a little less cuddly when I am busy
I'm actually impressed at how well that thread was received
Most of the time on reddit you're just absolutely not allowed to post anything critical of women
Genderswapping would definitely be an easy way to go about it
Something to also note is the language people use to defend the women who do this, the excuses they make for them
Here's one where a woman slept with her *own son* and got off without jail https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/mum-who-sexual-relations-persistent-13723101
The arguments defending her are basically "She had a rough relationship with her previous husband, be gentle with her :("
Imagine those same arguments being used to defend a man who slept with his 15 year old daughter
I see two negative comments on the invite thread, by the same person
Discord is good, one thing I dislike about reddit is that the karma system kind of hampers actual discussion
Exactly, discord allows for more casual discussion
I worry about having an echo chamber though, being with a bunch of like minded people is great but I don't want to become like feminists who shut out anything that isn't conducive to their ideals
According to data gathered by OKC (a dating website) women deem around 80% of men "below average"
I don't think that's the fault of those men, you are right, it already *is* a sellers' market
At least decent sex robots would more than likely bring down the average woman's "desirability" and even the playing field a bit
On one hand it's kind of funny, on the other hand it's sad to think about what it's doing to average young men
All the time there's a story about some young guy who just couldn't take the feeling of being unwanted anymore and decided to lash out, either against others or himself
I'm not an incel by any means, I've had a fair few relationships, but I see the frustration and understand
Especially with dating sites, the chance of a man getting a reply to an initial message is only about 4%
What are regular guys supposed to do when they have almost no value in the "sexual marketplace" aside from occasionally providing a free meal?
Yeah, I've been a victim of "trading up" one too many times and am effectively done with dating
Sadly I can't imagine financial abortion legislation would ever pass. Hell, in 2016 a bill was signed that would make women have to register for the draft, and feminists autism'd it into non-existence
