The way I describe the Gender thing as someone with biochem and genetics in my toolbox is. Gender is a role in which a sex takes on due to the traits that sex has. However, due to the fact we no longer discriminate between sexes and teach girls and boys both male and female advantageous activities; gender has essentially been wiped from existence.

@TheNobody I say kid's because that's where this whole gender identity begins. By the time you're an adult you're pretty well fixed as to who you are. I guess you could say that, but kids are essentially treated the same unless it comes to a specific sex related thing, like toilets or puberty.

However, peer to peer it barely registers (plus or minus 3 cents.)

Toxic masculinity is where a man or men are shamed for showing emotions or desires that don’t align with what has traditionally been labeled as masculinity.

Examples, not being able to express emotions including fear, sadness or insecurity.

Preferring a sweet drink over a beer, not enjoying hunting, or violence. Taking pride in own appearance, showing vulnerability.

I wouldn't argue that's toxic, just traditional. I do think men need some form of self-identity, but there are a number of things there that I don't think have to be on that list.

I guess TM doesn't effect me because I have no problem doing things I want. I'm usually pretty happy to have a reason to tell someone to shove it.

Side note, if there is TM then I think there is also a Toxic Feminity. Great example, men can sleep around but the ladies shouldn't. Either we should all be able to sleep around or should exercise restraint.

Well there hasn’t been a draft since Vietnam, and it’s largely been men fighting to keep women out of combat roles in the military.

I also think that if there was a serious epidemic of rape directed towards men, where someone was penetrating your bodies against your will as frequently as happens to females you’d be more understanding of consent laws
