2018-08-17 06:06:15 UTC

You're not..

2018-08-17 06:06:19 UTC

Understanding... any of this.

2018-08-17 06:06:20 UTC

and then brainwash them

2018-08-17 06:06:26 UTC

How exhausting.

2018-08-17 06:06:30 UTC

Peertube versus BitChute? different communities from what I can tell, and different underlying tech. But they appear to be going for similar ideas.

2018-08-17 06:06:42 UTC

what about dtube?

2018-08-17 06:06:58 UTC

afaik bitchute canonly be accessed from one site

2018-08-17 06:07:05 UTC

if that goes down...bye

2018-08-17 06:07:15 UTC

Well, why would it go down and not come back up?

2018-08-17 06:07:21 UTC

ddos

2018-08-17 06:07:21 UTC

peertube is a bunch of federated sites which can work together to share videos

2018-08-17 06:07:24 UTC

@Deleted User thats just IPFS. tbh, you dont need dtube to host a video in the IPFS network

2018-08-17 06:07:29 UTC

Sites don't just die.

2018-08-17 06:07:30 UTC

much like CDNs

2018-08-17 06:07:37 UTC

Dns drops bitchute is the most obvious possibility.

2018-08-17 06:07:53 UTC

...

2018-08-17 06:07:55 UTC

Websites are not rare and endangered sea creatures.

2018-08-17 06:07:56 UTC

A year ago I wouldn't have considered it. Now it seems inevitable.

2018-08-17 06:08:06 UTC

DNS is going to start playing censor soon.

2018-08-17 06:08:09 UTC

dunno of anyone being able to rehost bitchute

2018-08-17 06:08:13 UTC

not really pratel

2018-08-17 06:08:22 UTC

only dumb ppl that used the 1.1.1.1 dns server

2018-08-17 06:08:31 UTC

I feel like I should assume the opposite of what Nidhoggr says is true.

2018-08-17 06:08:36 UTC

btw if you are using googles and that server get rid of that shit

2018-08-17 06:08:50 UTC

they loging all your traffic

2018-08-17 06:09:29 UTC

@Deleted User the problem with dtube is that it requires some amount of techsavyness and an own server (or rather, IPFS node, which can be a simple raspberry pi, of course), id view that as a backup to dlive. Becouse, both is powered by steem anyways and if someone follows you hes going to see if you reupload it via IPFS and post that to your steem timeline as well.

2018-08-17 06:09:35 UTC

I used to laugh at Bing for trying.

2018-08-17 06:09:44 UTC

Now I'm glad we have them as a fallback point.

2018-08-17 06:09:56 UTC

last time i tried the d.tube site refused to play videos

2018-08-17 06:10:03 UTC

Duckduckgo too, but that's always laggy for me.

2018-08-17 06:10:16 UTC

yea they dont have a good load balancing betwen the ipf servers

2018-08-17 06:10:26 UTC

shit can be fixed tho
