I think 100 years may be a little short. China showed us that dynasties usually last 300 or so. Of course, if all depends on how strong the foundation is.

In the Information Age, where everything can be transmitted in fractions of a second, it does make sense that those โ€œdynastiesโ€ would last for shorter and shorter periods of time, especially as populations, and, more importantly, population *density* continues to increase.

All assuming a relatively free flow of information, accurate or otherwise.

That being said, 70 years between major wars does seem to be about average, so I can see where 100 years would be the reasonable benchmark there.

Major wars here being defined as conflicts like WWI and WWII, where multiple actors mobilize multiple armies in open conflict. Although I think the days of that have passed us by for the most part. Fourth generation warfare seems to be more or less the norm now.

Iโ€™m around Tacoma. But horribly out of shape and have a new puppy that will hopefully help me get a little more active long with my fiancรฉe.

Trying to eat better too, especially since the lockdown.

So general idea here is to find likeminded people and help out with resources and meet ups and build the community, right?

Does anyone have any tips on low impact exercises a big guy with knee troubles can do? I have one of the stationary bike things that Iโ€™m putting together soon and a new puppy thatโ€™s going to keep me a bit more active. Iโ€™m willing to work hard, just need to start slow is all.

I had a coworker recommend a smoothie in the morning.

1 cup whole milk
One scoop protein powder (I usually used vanilla or chocolate)
2-3 tablespoons peanut butter
1 tablespoon fiber powder
And 1-3 tablespoons honey
1 banana
Blend until smooth

I used to drink one of these every morning around 8am and wouldnโ€™t be hungry until 2-3 in the afternoon.

Of course, back then, I was in carpet cleaning and on my feet 6-12 hours a day. High protein, high fiber and low carb and sugar. Iโ€™d get a subway sub with double meat and cheese (usually the roasted chicken breast) and load it with veggies and go to town. I could also get 2 double quarter pounders w/ cheese from McDโ€™s and I was still losing about 1-2 pounds a week.

Now I have a more sedentary job when Iโ€™m working so I canโ€™t eat like that unless I start burning more calories. I donโ€™t have access to a pool, which is why I opted for the exercise bike. I might have to get back into my morning smoothies.

He said that the fiber powder bonded with the proteins in the shake and helped it break down slower, in addition to helping keep you regular and peeing more, which is apparently how your body gets rid of most of its fat.

My issue is more portion control as well. Iโ€™m working on it bits at a time though. The problem is that I let myself get bad enough that itโ€™s hard to get back into it. Itโ€™ll be a long, slow road.

Yeah, the guy that told me about it was a fitness buff...but Iโ€™m not sure how good his info was. I was dropping weight and thatโ€™s what mattered.

Iโ€™ve found the first 20 comes off pretty quick. Itโ€™s after that that the hard work sets in.

Has anyone tried those Remington black powder rifles? Apparently theyโ€™re sort of bolt action and can use pre-measured black powder charges. Itโ€™s called the Remington 700 Ultimate Muzzle Loader. Saw it a few years ago and thought it was pretty neat. Been thinking about it for getting into black powder, but might try something a little more in line with original muskets.

@IA Sure. Send me some links and Iโ€™ll take a look into it. Appreciate the offer.

Iโ€™ve got a guy in a group of mine on Facebook that set up a GoFundMe. His dad was murdered on Monday and is looking to raise funds to get there and get his dadโ€™s affairs settled. I didnโ€™t want to post it in here without checking if itโ€™s okay. Heโ€™s one of us, but I donโ€™t think heโ€™s in here.

So, would it be okay to toss a link in here somewhere, and if so, where should I do that? Thanks in advance, admins.

I think people are more inclined to defend the state theyโ€™re from than the US as a whole.

My little German Shepherd puppy, Poe, resting in the recliner with me after a couple hours of hard play and trying to eat the flesh off of my fingers.

@P. I have some similar issues. Honestly, as you eat more, your stomach expands, so you need to eat more to feel full. Itโ€™s a vicious cycle that Iโ€™m also trying to break.

As far as suppressants go, coffee and tea are both pretty good while also being diuretics. So youโ€™ll be peeing a lot of the water out that you can be drinking between meals.

I have found that a high protein, high fiber and low sugar and carb diet has worked for me in the past. For example, Iโ€™d run through McDonaldโ€™s after a long day at work and get two double quarter pounders with cheese but no fries or soda. Of course, I was on my feet all day for work at the time.

Green tea is also supposed to have some good fat burning qualities. You could also switch to less calorie dense foods like vegetables. You eat as much as you normally would, but a pound of broccoli has less calories than a pounds of beef, for example.

On the other side of that, you could eat foods that โ€œstick to your ribsโ€ a little longer like oatmeal and protein shakes, thereby eating less because youโ€™re less hungry throughout the day. I used to do a protein shake in the morning around 8am and wouldnโ€™t be hungry until 2-3pm, when I would get those burgers or a double meat, double cheese sub from subway loaded with veggies.

Iโ€™m looking to lose a bunch of weight as well, but my main issues is getting moving and portion control. But slow and steady does it best, Iโ€™ve found.

Itโ€™s more that Iโ€™ve really let myself get way bigger than I thought I would. So low impact stuff for me until I can get my knees to handle extended walking around. Iโ€™m looking to lose about 150-ish pounds, to give you a bit of an idea.

My woman is German. So everything here has to be neat und tidy.

^ true. Although I think most anyone is attracted to that because it shows confidence and competence, which anyone wants in a partner.

Iโ€™m mostly Irish/Scottish and Northern European according to Ancestry.

If I recall, and I might not be recalling correctly, mind, it was a black group who had issue with the local government. The official story was they had machine guns and bombs and were planning sketchy stuff. Iโ€™m not super familiar with the whole story.

If police stopped having special protections, it would go a long way towards that goal.

I only heard about Athens fairly recently. Back when people held people accountable.

That would teach that itโ€™s okay to not only question, but overthrow authority. Thatโ€™s no bueno in the public indoctrination system.

I mean, both Russia and Germany had sort of...breeding camps during WWII. Russia even had a day once a year where they tell people to go home and make babies. I donโ€™t know if they still have it.

Well, camps might be a bit of an exaggeration. But they were highly encouraged to reproduce early and often.

I found a diet of coffee, salad and hate has worked for me in the past.

I just got a puppy a week ago and get on the ground and wrestle with her for a while. Gets my heart going and a good sweat without being high impact. Do that a couple of times a day and my exercise bike as well as a diet change and I should be solid.

I like the movement as a whole, but generally, it seems like mostly a bunch of people calling other people larpers for not doing anything. This server has been a good place to see an actual community forming with people who are going to be looking out for each other.

Some of them have. Most of them I think are quietly sitting and waiting for the next big conservative thing to go disrupt.

From what Iโ€™ve seen though, most groups hate the commies as much as the MAPs and pedos.

And furries, for some reason.

I see a bunch of โ€œSocialist Supportโ€ and other such groups up in the Seattle area on the handful of occasions Iโ€™ve had to head that way. Mostly flyer haphazardly slapped up with tape on crossing posts.

Lots of people are seeing whatโ€™s going on now as a failure of capitalism...for whatever reason.

So we have tons of young, Call it under 35, people who are turning to socialism.

โ€œBecause things will be better when itโ€™s *my* person in charge!โ€

Right? The way things had been for thousands of years before governments decided that they needed a cut for โ€œThe betterment and safety of societyโ€.

Essentially an economic system that treats people like adults instead of children.

I mean, youโ€™re not wrong.

Although corporate oligarchy could also be used.

But for all intents and purposes, fascism is fairly accurate. Left and right are simply two boots on the same thug.

But hey, โ€œAs long as itโ€™s my side doing it, I donโ€™t care!โ€

Well, Iโ€™ve got to get ready to take the pupper to the vet for a checkup and some shots. Have a good day everyone.

Alright question. Whatโ€™s up with calling the feds soup? I never really got the connection unless itโ€™s an alphabet soup thing...

Iโ€™m not super into the internet or lingo.

I kind of figured, but never saw the direct link.

Right? For being 29, Iโ€™m way more boomer than millennial.

Iโ€™m hoping for zombies, personally.
