The primary issue is that talking about and advocating certain acts on any social media platform makes it more likely to be noticed by that platform, and removed. We're trying to keep things nice here so that people can still find others to get with on apps like keybase. It's about protecting you all, so you can be better able to do what you want about the issues at hand.

I like the movement as a whole, but generally, it seems like mostly a bunch of people calling other people larpers for not doing anything. This server has been a good place to see an actual community forming with people who are going to be looking out for each other.

I've seen a bit of a surge in young socialists and communists in social media though. With everything going on, they're quick to blame capitalism, though incapable of giving a definition of capitalism

I see a bunch of “Socialist Support” and other such groups up in the Seattle area on the handful of occasions I’ve had to head that way. Mostly flyer haphazardly slapped up with tape on crossing posts.

Lots of people are seeing what’s going on now as a failure of capitalism...for whatever reason.

So we have tons of young, Call it under 35, people who are turning to socialism.

Capitalism is simply a market system where people are entitled to the fruit of their labor, and have the right to buy, sell, and trade as they see fit without interference.
