!agree
2. No race-baiting, racism, or other racially charged attacks
9. This is a pro free-speech community, so long as it conforms to the rules.
- So its not pro free-speech then, since race-baiting etc fall within the realm of free speech
so what you're saying is that discord sucks balls
@OpenCube this is why i stay away from the lot of them
@gonejamin the former. it actually is protected under free speech
discord itself isnt even the only problem. Virtually all of these discord servers are run by authoritarian scum that will abuse their powers whenever they see fit
@Deleted User i did not say that ALL those that run them are authoritarian scum
@gonejamin yeah, perhaps its the last remaining non-echo chamber there is
@gonejamin that depends on the rules
border hopping? you got people that advocate for completely open borders
how do illegals vote in the first place? are you kidding me?
hoooow? you need an ID and they have all your personal information if you vote
go ahead and replace the drivers license with a name tag
@Fitzydog poor people arent a race, and how much do you need to pay for an ID anyway?
@Budd Dwyer I believe in these things too, doesnt mean I readily accept the "everyone welcome in the US, no questions asked" policy
@Budd Dwyer ok, so when you ask "does that make me a leftist" understand how general the label is.
It doesnt make you a progressive cuck
@Fitzydog the "change my mind" thing is retarded. No one has to change your mind, the onus is on you to prove your claim
@Deleted User if you mean it as an invitation, as you being open to having your mind changed, then fine
if however you require that someone convinces you of the opposite, otherwise you're right, then thats a fallacy
@Deleted User I've seen a video where he takes this "purest form" approach, but I've also seen vids of him going "ha! Gotcha, you cant prove me wrong!" which is bullshit
when you make a proposition, you've adopted a burden proof. this "change my mind" stuff can be abused easily, and sounds a bit like a bait and switch
which is why crowder and pretty much anyone can do it
Crowder can actually hold long and honest conversations, its just that he often doesnt, and is mostly interested in building himself up and getting sound bytes
but he is quite capable, and can hold a conversation/debate well
@Tricerius damn you got the full clip. Have to watch that later
oh sorry, I went right to the beginning @Tricerius
@Tricerius Crowder seems very weak on this one, even by his standards. He failed to justify most of his arguments. I think he could have done better, if he had taken more time to formulate his thoughts more eloquently.
cant tell tbh. The kid was bad also, not so emotionally engaged, but he didnt really make his case well
love the "oooooh" part when the kid drops the word "autistic"
he can call whatever he wants as autistic or retarded
also "its very easy to argue from logic and syllogisms" ? thats one of the most stupidly untrue statements i have ever heard.
Arguing from pure logic is the hardest thing to do, because logic, and specifically propositional logic, aims to force us to accept a conclusion by eliminating all other options
I.e. its only logical if we can only reach X conclusion
@Tricerius situations? I dont know what you mean here
I am addressing what the kid said, about philosophy and logical syllogisms
go study propositional logic, or at least go to wikipedia to get an idea, then you'll see what i mean
this is epistemology, and i guess you can say its an abstract
Look how easy it is:
P1. Elizabeth owns either a Honda or a Saturn.
P2. Elizabeth does not own a Honda.
C: Therefore, Elizabeth owns a Saturn.
Based on the 2 premises, you cant reach any other conclusion
that is what strong arguments based on propositional logic do
The best arguments make it impossible for you to reach any other conclusion than what is proposed
"whats immoral about inequality?" - Steven Crowder 2019
I dont know why you would even ask this question
sure, do you want me to answer if rape is immoral too?
then you have a strange interpretation of "inequality"
or you're not talking about morality, but something else
you people are weird. fine. Inequality is inherently bad for society because it creates a stratified and unjust society, hence the difference classes and the difference that alienates people of these classes
in addition to having poor classes that have to get loans and pay bills that are struggling to meet, you also have a more serious problem which is the division it causes among people and the various conflict it generates on the broader society
@Antiboom yeah ok sure, I'll define it for you. Its simply not having equal wealth, social status, place in society. Literally earning more or less money for the same amount of work, or earning more money than those that work their asses off
The billionaire can make millions just by having their money sit in a bank. Most people have to work hard just to pay their bills and get the necessities of life
in fact, poor people have to get loans and pay interest, which goes into the bank accounts of the millionaires, because of their large deposits
@Fitzydog k. tell that to the ones that cant pay their bills because they got sacked. And no, just because you got fired doesnt mean you're useless or a bad worker. Companies reduce staff size very often.
@Antiboom uhm, the mentally disabled man shouldnt be forced to work ffs.
ok. if it takes them too long to do the same kind of work because they're stupid, then that job isnt for them
I cant be a physics professor, but if I tried hard enough, I might be able to teach a class. You know, taking 10 times longer to explain the same thing as an actual professor
