The French are scared of Russia and China, and NATO is one of the few things protecting them from that.
If they leave NATO, they will probably end up like Ukraine.

I understand that, but a lot of those European countries (France included) don't pay the 2% into their military like they're supposed to. Trump would be completely justified if you didn't get involved over there if they weren't in NATO.

And Western Europe. Most of poland is pretty flat and easily invadeable. Germany is a bigger challenge, but still pretty easy.
