banning is a terrible system in general

just letting anyone spam anything is just as bad, maybe worse

what would make sense is to split into small groups, just randomly is fine or however, and then aggregate those groups into larger groups/conversations

it's not exactly a new idea, because of course it's the organizational structure of, say, the FAI

but it seems to be a new idea to apply it to facilitating/coordinating online discussion spaces

unless you know a discussion confederation out there i can join, which would be stellar

but i think it's just my idea
