I'm really wanting to go to the Tommy Robinson BBQ tonight, but not sure what my mum would say and what story I would need to spin to allow me to go. She put a phone tracker app on my phone. Even with me at 19, she's still quite a strict woman with me, so not sure what to do.

I am at my Uni room at the moment. Just returned after Easter break

She has this stuff on because I've been slacking behind in my assignment work and skipping lectures

Last time I left to meet someone was Round 4 of British Drift Championship at Three Sisters. I met up with some lads I met on Xbox, playing Forza.

I generally get on well with my classmates. But, I don't really socialise with them outside of lectures.

Should I just say to my mum that a friend has invited me to a BBQ tonight in Manchester?

I like to have my phone on hand with me at all times. I never leave it, even when nipping to Asda 10-15 minutes away.

I brought up Tommy Robinson to my mum once, and she made her point clear to me that she does not like him.

I could spin it as one of my Xbox friends inviting me. She was fine with me meeting up with them last september for BDC R4.

If I just up and left my Uni room, she'd start asking questions. I either want a story to tell before I go, or have the same one ready for when she questions me after I've left.

And she'd also question why I tunred off location services for the phone tracker app, or deleted it.

@Antiboom She's a strict, controlling woman. To help me with assignment work, she put blockers on phone and laptop to get me to go to sleep. She only uses them for turning my devices off at night, not for web fliters or anything like that.

Yes, I do get grants since my mum does not earn enough to support me at Uni, plus I do not have a job.

I don't know. I know I don't have confidence around women, which is why I'm using Tinder, but it's not going anywhere. All the gorls I match with end up ghosting me.

I like cars and motorsport, but I've found out I'm not that academically minded and struggle with essays/assignments.

I'm more of a kinosthetic learner. I learn by doing.

The only assignments I've got more of a pass on that I know off the top of my head, are a logistics assignment about organisng transport to an event, and CAD. Both were distinctions
