But I’d argue that Social media through mass alienation and disinformation creates tension within groups. The two are correlated, but that is because both are products of modernity, not that a decrease in social cohesion between groups is caused by the rise of social media.

Diversity was the Culprit for less social cohesion in Hati, in Austro-Hungary and in modern day South Africa.
