People who think they follow the Bible and Christ donโt actually follow either one.
uh huh
They follow their own understanding and their pride.
Is their own understanding based on following their heart?
Itโs based on following Satan and thinking itโs God
And Satan plants impulses in what, if not the heart?
Whatโs your point?
That the average person is not pure in heart, like I said. It sounds like you agree.
Including most โBible believing Christiansโ
Right, agreed
Not because they believe in the Bible or Christ but because being pure in heart is the level of completely righteous/saint
Someone who is righteous but not completely righteous still has evil thoughts but recognizes them as such, and they don't hold any sway over him
That sounds like an excuse to stay evil?
The concept of sainthood is an excuse to stay evil? What do you mean?
You just said completely righteous/saint, so obviously not. Iโm talking about โRighteous but not completely righteousโ geez. Are you actually open?
@Hake do you follow the bible and Christ?
No.
Interesting
I understand the bible...but to be a believer you must follow Christ, no?
Yes, you must follow Christ.
Ahh I see what you meant
You don't have to follow both
I don't like people that take the bible serious and quote scriptures all the time
I honestly donโt know if we should have doctrine discussions if weโre not living it. Cultures already too intellectual and prideful and self deceived as it is.
The Bible says to lean not on your own understanding yet thatโs all I do, and all I see others doing.
what does doctrine mean in the sense that is intended by this forum?
are we talking about the new testament, or interpetations etc
Whatevs I think. Tim will clarify if you go outside the lines.
i shouldnt be commenting because i have not read the bible.
Not true
just felt like asking
ok
I haven't read the bible either
I can't even explain why, but Jesse lit me up and I ended up at the Bhagavad Gita, and I never cared about it before.
I haven't read the bible either
You should feel free to comment bc you have a concept of what you believe.
I ended up getting into these 2000 year old Indian epics, and finding all these signs that correlated to different events in my life. I have no explanation for why.
What I am taking away from studying these exo-cultural scriptures is a sense of devotion and love for God
It makes me cry at times, just from the beauty. as opposed to the other kind of emotion that's based on things like pity.
@Hake, how does the concept of someone who is incompletely righteous in the sense that their heart still gives them impure thoughts, but they hold no sway over him, "an excuse to stay evil"?
"lean not on your own understanding" means follow the tradition passed down with the Bible instead of your own imaginings. It's the same thing as "Go to the priests and judges that will be in your generation" or "Listen to the Pharisees for they sit in Moses' seat".
"I honestly donโt know if we should have doctrine discussions" is an excuse not to pursue truth. It's up to the individual to be open to changing their positions.
So, is Christ basically Man who is essentially God incarnate?
The concept of Messiah is in every religion
as opposed to a girly beta male who is just a dead branch on the ground
It's not an excuse not to pursue truth. But touting your knowledge and intellectualism is not pursuing truth. It's pride. It's vain pursuit. Especially if you're not living it. Like I said, you don't seem open @Sar
Not open to even trying to understand.
Messiah is the concept that all of our souls have, at their highest level, no separation from each other nor from God
I hear accusations but not reasonings
Then you're not hearing.
Perhaps you're not saying anything
Christ is supposed to be the Son of God, not God incarnate. @Mitch Connor
If you don't follow the Bible, and I follow the Bible, we're operating under different frameworks
You shouldn't be debating what the Bible says if you don't follow it
You don't follow the Bible. You follow your own arrogance.
I follow the tradition that was passed down, not my own understanding. I offer no novel interpretations of my own.
To this you've made no answer.
You don't trust the codex but you claim that the decoder ring that was given with the codex is faulty? You don't accept the codex nevermind the ring.
You offered novel misinterpretations to everything I've said, LOL.
Name one
Already did. Done. Waste of time. Bye.
Name one interpretation of the Bible I've offered that I produced from my own imagination
What place does an idolator have arguing what is true doctrine and what is heretical?
I have said nothing about myself except, when pressed by you, to say it's strongly implied that I have not achieved theosis. And somehow this is touting myself as an intellectual?
could the song of God sing through you as if you were his instrument?
I make music and sometimes I do cover songs. But it's much more beautiful when I am allowed to just let go and see what happens. Doesn't happen as often as I want.
That's too poetic for my taste but yes?
Oh you mean actual music.
its a parable i guess, but literal works
and it has a reverse-sanskrit meaning. song of God in sanskrit is Bhagavad Gita
Itโs hot in here
That type of "Christianity" is a really evil deception.
I think so.
Folks, this thread is intended to let everyone partake in a conversation. I predict it will be mostly religious views and philosophy but not limited to just that. If you have something to bring to the table put it down. If you are a hypocrite it will become self evident.
correct me with impunity
@Sar the deceiver uses the mind to put you under the illusion of his lie. And that lie is intellect, knowledge, and judgment. Playing god is the original sin, and going to others as a godly figure of your intellect is of that same nature.
Iโm not calling anyone out in that previous message just clarifying for yโall.
So then the Bible is not self-consistent?
I donโt know sar Iโve never read the Bible and took the time to check that.
If the Bible isn't self-consistent, how can one make any arguments based on the Bible that "intellect, knowledge, and judgment" are lies.
If Hake doesn't follow the Bible and PPF doesn't know whether the Bible is self-consistent, how is it possible to advance any opinion on doctrine
You would have to go back and argue whether the Bible is reliable, self-consistent, etc.
If we don't agree on what the color Red is we can't argue whether something is Red
Jesse asked a great question: Do you give spiritual advice? You can have all knowledge, but if you don't have love, you're not living it and you are nothing, not helping anyone. Like the people trying to cast out demons by imitating the apostles yet without the power. You'll just get eaten alive, and people can see through you. You're turning them off and don't know it.
It seems like your point of argument is based in your pride in your intellect of the Bible.
This isn't a life counseling chat, this is doctrinal discussion chat
It seems to you that way based on what?
Based on your intellect?
Based on what I see you doing
Haven't you agreed the heart is deceitful?
No
as far as i understand
Preaching the true gospel and countering the doctrine of demons does not make me feel good about myself
