Could well reflect their moral state. The assertion from Hamlet "There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so" resonates with me but certainly not some who think there is a metaphysical moral fabric.

2018-09-15 23:56:03 UTC

Interesting... so, is it wrong to believe that gender is only constructed?

2018-09-15 23:57:55 UTC

For sure though, you have your own value system and matching your moral framework to that and actually acting in accordance with it will give you a peace of sorts. Part of going your own way isn't it? I feel paying 10k for an engagement ring to throw on a woman's hand for the purpose of gloating and status is nonsensical and immoral, so doing such a thing for conformity's sake will tear at my own constructed moral fabric.

2018-09-16 00:00:06 UTC

I don't believe in moral theories or values. And I don't find simply caring for others to be sufficient enough to guarantee a moral framework... I have come to abandon value belief systems. They all fail.

2018-09-16 00:00:18 UTC

Ergo the question, do we have moral knowledge?

2018-09-16 00:02:08 UTC

Maybe you agree with Shakespeare? "Nothing either good or bad" ...but...Some have "moral knowledge" of what is right and wrong in their own realm, "thinking makes it so."

2018-09-16 00:06:28 UTC

You probably have some sense of what is moral to yourself, but you can also end up feeling like shit living in a way not befitting your own (unrealized) moral sense. It is possible to develop a moral knowledge that fits your understanding of the world and to some extent influences your behaviour. Some of us are less certain of our righteousness, while some have no problem chopping off heads for videos in accordance with their own moral superiority.

2018-09-16 00:08:49 UTC

All of those would imply that those people would have moral knowledge of some sort, but how do they know that exactly?

2018-09-16 00:09:49 UTC

How does anyone know if raping someone is worse than donating to charity?

2018-09-16 00:09:59 UTC

Hello

2018-09-16 00:10:02 UTC

They do not. They may only know that their moral sensibilities align with their values.

2018-09-16 00:10:12 UTC

Vc one time

2018-09-16 00:10:24 UTC

But how does one know what one's values are?

2018-09-16 00:10:34 UTC

Asking ones self

2018-09-16 00:11:06 UTC

How many times and what if one values one thing at one moment only to abandon it the next?

2018-09-16 00:11:11 UTC

Experience only, I'd say. Sadly, some receive it from others in the form of religion/politics/"mommy said so"/friends/conformity/TV commercials.

2018-09-16 00:11:11 UTC

Voice chat

2018-09-16 00:11:24 UTC

You only have the moment

2018-09-16 00:11:25 UTC

Rabbit hole discussion. :)

2018-09-16 00:11:26 UTC

What if someone values raping children?

2018-09-16 00:11:30 UTC

Your values will change throughout your life.

2018-09-16 00:11:33 UTC

You should focus on the moment only

2018-09-16 00:11:42 UTC

Not what one should or would become later

2018-09-16 00:12:04 UTC

@BlaqShiep Which moment? The one now or later?

2018-09-16 00:12:07 UTC

If one values raping children they will be shunned by all

2018-09-16 00:12:13 UTC

Now is the only moment

2018-09-16 00:12:21 UTC

So what if people shun them? Why should they care?

2018-09-16 00:12:29 UTC

You are over complicating now

2018-09-16 00:12:50 UTC

Who cares what they experience... What do YOU value?

2018-09-16 00:12:59 UTC

That is what is important

2018-09-16 00:12:59 UTC

Not sure...

2018-09-16 00:13:09 UTC

That is for you to find out

2018-09-16 00:13:14 UTC

I'm not even sure if value is a thing that can be understood...

2018-09-16 00:13:20 UTC

Here's a thought though--how many of us valued pussy. But come kenjataimu...as sure as the sun.

2018-09-16 00:13:40 UTC

Dont over generalize an objective thing of value what we value is inherently subjective

2018-09-16 00:14:08 UTC

I never valued "pussy"

2018-09-16 00:14:15 UTC

I did value women...

2018-09-16 00:14:29 UTC

Instinctually i assume...

2018-09-16 00:14:51 UTC

And now you do not.. at that moment you valued women, and in this one, you do not... So which moment is supposed to be the one of value?

2018-09-16 00:15:11 UTC

At the moment i did... That was that version of myself

2018-09-16 00:15:23 UTC

I know who he was and i do not fault him

2018-09-16 00:15:31 UTC

So, is there one self, many or none?

2018-09-16 00:15:49 UTC

Who i am now... I must proceed in the correct fashion or i am blasphemous to my own valuss

2018-09-16 00:16:01 UTC

There is one moment

2018-09-16 00:16:05 UTC

If you cannot find a fault with that self, why change him?

2018-09-16 00:16:16 UTC

Disregard self... Focus on now

2018-09-16 00:16:24 UTC

The moment

2018-09-16 00:16:47 UTC

But you just admitted that you needed a self in order to be in a particular moment...

2018-09-16 00:16:53 UTC

I feel you BlaqShiep...but once a nut was had, have you never questioned your "values" beforehand? Felt ashamed of tolerating a conversation where your woman denigrates a coworker for shoe choice, or quickly closed a porn tab after finishing only to suddenly wish you hadn't spent so much time on it and quickly went back to doing something more rewarding?

2018-09-16 00:17:01 UTC

In that Moment there was no fault... To behave like him now... Is a fault

2018-09-16 00:17:29 UTC

Of course i have

2018-09-16 00:17:33 UTC

values are dynamic, at least I fear so...

2018-09-16 00:17:35 UTC

But you just said that there is but only one moment? How can you suggest that a self at one moment is bad after this one, yet all moments are one?

2018-09-16 00:17:39 UTC

But you answer your own question

2018-09-16 00:17:44 UTC

I felt shame

2018-09-16 00:17:53 UTC

Therefore there must be correction

2018-09-16 00:18:02 UTC

Its really that simple

2018-09-16 00:18:12 UTC

So, shame determines which self is correct?

2018-09-16 00:18:19 UTC

When there is no shame... Thete is no need to correct

2018-09-16 00:18:33 UTC

One factor yes

2018-09-16 00:18:41 UTC

Shame is a motivator

2018-09-16 00:18:52 UTC

What about a woman's shame?

2018-09-16 00:18:57 UTC

Fuck her

2018-09-16 00:19:07 UTC

What about YOU... This MGTOW

2018-09-16 00:19:16 UTC

Not how can we change her

2018-09-16 00:19:29 UTC

How do you adapt?

2018-09-16 00:19:37 UTC

What do YOU do?

2018-09-16 00:19:37 UTC

So... do you pick and choose which shame is worth change and which is not?

2018-09-16 00:19:51 UTC

Explain

2018-09-16 00:19:56 UTC

Seven of Swords -- that's the fucked up thing isn't it? Shame comes AFTER -- for it to determine something....that's a curse, you'd never realize till after you betrayed your own standards eh?

2018-09-16 00:20:11 UTC

Haha yeah boss

2018-09-16 00:20:25 UTC

So, you have to betray your own standards in order to know them?

2018-09-16 00:20:28 UTC

Life is a cruel teacher... Gives you the test first then the lesson

2018-09-16 00:20:44 UTC

Seven

2018-09-16 00:20:49 UTC

maybe you do -- it is trial and learn reality, language, shame, morals, values, etc.

2018-09-16 00:20:53 UTC

You are over intellectualizing

2018-09-16 00:21:02 UTC

Who are you now

2018-09-16 00:21:06 UTC

How much ought I intellectualize?

2018-09-16 00:21:13 UTC

There is no generalization that must be made

2018-09-16 00:21:36 UTC

You are trying to come up with a steady philosophy... There is only now

2018-09-16 00:21:51 UTC

If you feel shame... Seek to avoid shame

2018-09-16 00:22:11 UTC

If you deel strong and triumphant then...

2018-09-16 00:22:16 UTC

Seven -- just try out living in accordance with your own sensibilities. We cannot answer for you. You must live your own way.

2018-09-16 00:22:20 UTC

Yet you couldn't distinguish which "now" is more worth the time than others... so why should "now" matter?

2018-09-16 00:22:22 UTC

Its self evident, but not easy

2018-09-16 00:22:31 UTC

Lets voice chat

2018-09-16 00:22:52 UTC

There is not different nows

2018-09-16 00:23:03 UTC

Only NOW

2018-09-16 00:23:39 UTC

Who i was when i was 16... That now is not NOW

2018-09-16 00:23:56 UTC

You are complicating the uncomplicated

2018-09-16 00:24:18 UTC

I got confused reading this.

2018-09-16 00:24:57 UTC

it's a bit too abstract

2018-09-16 00:25:51 UTC

Idk about abstract but its paradoxical... We want to generalize and categorize to simplify... But its an ongoing process

2018-09-16 00:26:05 UTC

So it should evolve

2018-09-16 00:26:10 UTC

We are not all knowing

2018-09-16 00:26:18 UTC

We discover

2018-09-16 00:26:30 UTC

I'll be in voice chat if anyone wants to hang

2018-09-16 00:26:36 UTC

give me a few minutes.

2018-09-16 00:26:42 UTC

Im there

2018-09-16 00:26:52 UTC

This could be interesting
