Not just for imagery, but with 200 people if I can't be above the headline then people in the back may not hear me or see what's happening.
I could argue the bit of a truck is probably the perfect height
Mayhaps, My only worry is the difference to the ground. I want people to come up and speak or receive recognition and it may be awkward. Perhaps a box of middling height to act as a step could allow the ceremony to retain its composure.
@ND - Samuel VA @NS - Grant MD Do we have such an object to fill this role readily in our possession?
I have a stepladder ill toss it in the truck and bring it up
I could build you a simple podium, 2 ft high platform
Me and Christopher VA will get on that. A podium that could hold 3-4 ppl at once
Just a step or platform would be fine. A box.
A snack breakfast saturday, I've been getting nature Valley bars, pop-tarts, peanut butter crackers ECT... Probably on Friday I'm going to get a bunch of apples and bananas too
Maybe tomorrow or Tuesday I'm going to start with the pasta and accoutrement, but meatballs I'm not going to buy till Friday because cold
That all sounds good to me.
@here
Today I finalized the Radio Etiquette document and the Column Elements document. Column Elements is mostly to do with the internal functions of the march.
All are stamped and ready to go with copies for briefings on Friday.
Updated the speech today, printed copies. Rehearsing more. Will have it down. Still going to have a copy on me just in case. But no waving around a paper. No siree.
Going to finish the options for Vehicle Exchanges tonight, and have the primary Operation Document ready to print after my first scouting run tomorrow night.
Just an FYI to have it on the radar, I will not be able to stay super long Saturday night because I have a 4 and 1/2 hour drive back to Newark airport for a very early flight
@Mike ID i thought you were staying in norfolk thru til next year
@ND - Samuel VA i have to fly home for a few days to take care of some family stuff
I just printed the final copies of the primary OpDoc and stamped them. If nothing changes in my scouting runs, they will be the ones distributed.
@Thomas I'm going to try to get to the campsite as early on Fridays I can, early afternoon at least. That way I can take inventory of what all we have in case I got to run down to Walmart or something to get whatever we don't have
I will be at campsite 9am
@Vincent TX Give the checkpoint to anyone who may need it. Everyone is going there so people knowing it will happen. Ask everyone you message to let you know if they know another driver. Aside from Directors, Alan MI, Christopher AL, there should be few to none traveling outside their influence accounting for flyers. If you get the inkling it isn't enough, asking everyone and having everyone ask everyone, just go down the attendee list.
If all of that fails, I'll put it in announcements.
Heard
ETA 8 a.m. EST
Doing scouting immediately upon arrival.
@ND - Samuel VA @NS - Grant MD
Changes to the route:
- Cut the march around to the Capitol's East face. Too cramped and policed. Minimal space to expand for speech. Regular protests outside Supreme Court likely could cause issue. Police on capitol grounds themselves seem a little on edge. Sidewalks to get there are slim, and taking the street may be difficult with so much police traffic with their heavy vehicles and such.
- Instead, march will take place at the stone pathway on the West side of the Capitol Reflecting Pool. More space, fewer police interference, no traffic, and a more simplified marching route. Still is further than we went for the M4L, but less than we went last year. To remedy, I propose the following.
- When we pass the Lincoln Monument, we will climb the steps and make a lap around the immediate circumference of the upper layer, within the columns. This will be timely and safe, and provide an impeccable look. I saw no cops stationed at the monument, and no signs cautioning this area off to anyone. People were freely walking the area.
Notes on VE's:
1. Very good. Like it on all points.
2. (Open Hands Church or whatever) Very bad. Poor on many points. Potentially a new Tertiary backup if all else fails.
3. Second Park location in Alexandria yet to be scouted.
Waiting location for Box Trucks yet to be scouted. Plan to today/tonight. Staying at a hotel in Alexandria now.
Summary: March is a little shorter, more direct, keeping to more open spaces, and still more daring than our last two trips to DC.
Sounds like much progress made, glad that these protests aren't damping our parade
Welcome to Virginia
Today I am going to:
- Label some pictures of the dropsite, and pickup for Drivers.
- Write amendments into the OpDocs. (Maybe print new ones, but they're small edits I can pen in myself)
- Scout the two final locations. (Gran't confidence in them means I likely will have no issue, and their presence as backup backups)
Anything else I'm missing?
If you wish me to print out copies of the amended op doc leg me know
I've got 2 printed As of last night
Negative. I have enough copies and all that.
10-4
Also will I be allowed to go directly to the campsite since I'm more than likely going to be unloading a bunch of kit and running back into town to get more supplies?
I don't want to go outside procedure if that's not the case
Will need to talk to grant about that
@NS - Grant MD quick Q for you ^
@Mike ID we currently don't but with the number of people who will be arriving before 8pm I can anticipate we will probably need to do something for them
@ND - Samuel VA I'm going to try to be there around.... 5? Maybe.
It wouldn't be that big of a deal to run into town and whip something together for however many people we have
@Mike ID make Grant your primary POC hes getting there 10:30am I won't be there til roughly 7:45pm
@ND - Samuel VA 10-4
@NS - Grant MD i will be sure to do so, what address should i meet you at?
@Mike ID No dinner plans. I would check with Grant about going straight to camp. Probably fine, but I really, really, do not want to release camp address to anyone that does not absolutely need it. Security Checkpoint guys are leading people there in cars, and it's very close.
@NS - Grant MD @ND - Samuel VA I just scouted the Truck Wait Site, and the Tertiary (3rd Backup) Vehicle Exchange on Franconia Road.
Truck Wait Site: Good, but may be very busy on Saturday. Wooded coverage is great. I say as a backup, trucks could go to either of the unused Vehicle Exchanges. Yes, further away, but if the trucks get stopped then it does not matter how close they are.
@Thomas fully appreciate the discretion, ill be unloading my car (im solo) and heading back into town for more supplies pretty much right away
I have all the foodstuffs
@all COVER STORY: We are an assortment of youth with different christian denominations, we are part of the Turningpoint.usa community and fans of Charlie Kirk. We have been on a hike before at Mr.Mitchell as a stress test with about 30 guys, now we plan to take on "Bearfence Mountain Trailhead". We aren't an official group but came together in one of their subchats.Goal is to escape the materialistic world, disconnect for a weekend and form friendships and challenge ourselves. Some of us have met before but for most of us it is their first time. We will have workshops and other activities.
Thank you @NS - Grant MD
@Thomas alan mi asked me if I should be the one he updates with his ETA. I believe he meant @Vincent TX , correct?
People should be updating me ideally yea
I'm not sure that ever went out in an annoucement
@Vincent TX You will also be updated from security checkpoint as to who will be showing up and if they payed the event fee. So that you can be back at the camp and take attendance
Ok great. Just make sure its all on rocket. No threema.
You will have a radio and communicate by radio. The security team on duty at the time will just contact you on the radio. There will be 3 teams of 2. All will be aware about our accounting system
Roger
I have mine on me
I'll get a freq once we arrie
We have network 7 at the checkpoint
They have their orders. Will wait to be retrieved at 12
Idk what part of "between X and Y" they don't get.
I don't know if we want people waiting at the checkpoint for that many hours. Not good for security. Tell them to go and get breakfast or something.
Will keep it in mind
Network 7 is diverting
We can't afford to have the security check-in or vehicle exchanges blown. Just a little bit of meandering, 3-5 guys standing around laughing is enough to draw suspicion. We live in a world where people are naturally curious, unable to mind their own business, seeking gold stars for tattle taling and do so liberally. These locations should be as docile and unoccupied as an empty forest save one person who should look like he's sleeping in his car
@Vincent TX can you message the leaders of every travel Party the same so we don't have such a buildup?
I don’t have them all but I’m telling all the guys that are reaching out to me
I think most of the guys will be within the specified time frame. Network 7 just arrived early for some reason.
They are making themselves sparse now
Hill?
I see a lake. A road, a gate and a treeline on flat land
The landscape for the campsite
OpDocs updated. I have five copies. I have copies of Radio Etiquette, Column Elements, Drilling Practices, and others. Will be leaving to campsite soon and will update ETA to Checkpoint once en route.
@Ethan IN was involved in a car accident in transit, just him. He is fine but hit his head and needs to get it checked. @Clarke OK is picking him up now. Will provide updates when I get them.
We are with landlord now, things are going well. Almost done, about to head to the security checkpoint
I'm about 6 hours out, that puts me there at about 5:30 or so
The terrain is good, we are completely out of line of sight covered by a hill.
Currently at checkpoint with:
-Tyler CT Party (Marshall MA, Victor Ma, Jim MA)
8 ppl total
We will move to campsite and start parking at 12pm
Collect event fees grant
I had 10 people confirmed for network 7. Ask them who’s missing or backed out
We received event fees and are logging who payed
Ethan IN is in the hospital now. He was en route to the event when he got into a car accident. Maybe we should collect some money?
Or at least put some of collection towards it.
@NS - Grant MD couple groups of guys arriving between 5 and 6
We'll be collecting money at the event
