@NS - Grant MD If we're not using the current choice for vehicle exchange we should have a backup ready to go. What's your thoughts on that?
Just a quick status update for the people in this chat in case it becomes an issue, I will be doing some work out on Lake Michigan for the next few days and we'll have very limited access to my phone (with signal), I am expected to be back in port on the 18th
I am going to make some hardtack with my fiancee, that will be supplemental though.
current projected weather in DC on 12/4: 36 to 53, mostly sunny
@Mike ID I tried calling you on Telegram this morning, we need to talk immediately regarding the food situation for I-day. As of right now, we have not done any preparation beyond a few brief exchanges over rocketchat. We have an idea of what we want to prepare, which I will recap here:
Saturday morning Breakfast:
Non-cooked handheld "clean" foods
-Oat bars
-Protein Bars
-Fruits
-Trail mixes
Saturday night Dinner
-Spaghetti
-Meatballs (frozen, pre-cooked
-Sauce
We need to make cooking accommodations for 200 attendees
We also need to have utensils, paper towels, bowls (I have most of these items or can get them already so thats not an issue)
We are approaching our date FAST. As of right now I am not guaranteed that the food is purchased, or that your attendance is 100% guaranteed due to the demands of your job.
If we do not have the food/guarantees of attendance by Monday 11/29/21 I will personally go to Costco and purchase all of these items myself (which will incur a heavier cost than your wholesaler, and is not optimal)
Please respond ASAP
@ND - Samuel VA sorry about the time zone, I just woke up!
Currently I'm going to be in New Jersey from November 26th until December 2nd, I'm going to use that week to purchase all of the foodstuffs mentioned above, and then drive to my next job site in Virginia on December 3rd, where I'll have a hotel in Norfolk (I'll be working in Norfolk till Christmas)
In the event that my ability to arrive in the area of the event on the day that it's needed, worst case scenario I can send you enough money to pay for anything we might need, but currently that is my plan. Let me know if there's any concerns there.
If you are going to be in Norfolk December 3rd that is perfect because I have a member (Vincent Va) and he has a truck
As far as my c- math skills go, I see maybe $100 in material for breakfast, a hundred dollars for dinner and 50$ in ancillary, with probably another 150 in portable cooktops and Potts, which I fully intend on leaving behind for anybody who wants one.
So all in all not a very significant undergoing to get everything over the span of the week leading up to the event
I am probably riding up with him on Dec. 3re
@ND - Samuel VA I can't guarantee what rental car I'll be able to get, but it's going to be some kind of pickup truck or SUV, it pretty much always is
You dont need to buy pots, those are already reserved (3 60qt pots). We need 3 propane burners
Very straightforward: are you 100% guaranteed going to be arriving in Nortolk on December 3rd? Your locating here has been in limbo for the last 3 months. Is this a solid commitmentm
As my current itinerary stands, it puts me on the Eastern seaboard the day after Thanksgiving and Norfolk the afternoon of the second, or morning of the Third
Believe you me, I am not particularly happy about my schedule changes, but it ended up working out favorably that I coincidentally have to be in Norfolk on December 4th, as opposed to back in August like I was originally supposed to
And even if my schedule does get wishy-washy, I have those days off already, worst case I just have to buy my own plane ticket, oh well
Are you attending the event?
Yes
You should drive from jersey to the camp directly on Friday Dec. 3rd then continue to norfolk either Saturday night or Sunday the 5th
Makes no sense for you to drive to norfolk then double back half the distance
@Mike ID @ND - Samuel VA Let's get all the needed items onto the gear list.
Theres the food list and the gear list which im handling separately (progresss reflected in the oversight Channel)
@ND - Samuel VA I don't actually know where the event city is yet, I don't know if I'm considered "need to know", I'm okay either way
@NS - Grant MD Who are your two aides?
Also, you need to mind that people will be showing up to the checkpoint for a 12 hour window, gotta make sure it's staffed during that time. Best to arrange shifts.
@ND - Samuel VA We should have 120 flag poles just to be safe. Can we arrange the sourcing of 40 more? They can be returned for no net cost.
@ND - Samuel VA I just purchased enough Chevron and Nation's Banner flags to get us over our totals. We will need 50 Federal flags. Do we have that many reserved from others? Who, if so?
Also, we need 40 more conduit poles to reach the total. These can be returned same-day for no cost. Please let me know who will be picking these up and when.
My two aids are Chriostopher VA and Tyler MD
I am keeping good contact with the landlord, she now has 4 porta potties on site!
@Thomas 40 conduit poles, 50 federal flags. Anything else?
Also, do you mind if I put out tthe call in my local network to hunt down overpass federal flags?
@NS - Grant MD Great to hear! Expect a possibility that they'll hear about the march as it happens. Not sure what would be best to do, but something to think about.
@ND - Samuel VA I would mind if you didn't put out the flag capture notice. I know Eric said he had some, NW7 too via Tyler CT. I would ask around.
You would mind if I didn't- meaning put the word out, correct?
Yes.
@Thomas I think they will ultimately be ok with us if they find out. They do have a conservative background, either way. If they want to break the lease which is unlikely to happen. We will take our time and work something out
I think that diplomacy, gratitude, respectfulness and warmth will be what keeps us in their good graces but that was to be expected either way
Exactly! If anything we will call the charm full southern gentleman Samuel VA to molasses sweet talk them
Yes, the south. South Brooklyn.
How are we doing on reserving Federal flags to be brought?
I'll buy the 50 federal flags today; Is 3x5 okay?
@ND - Samuel VA Wait, people already have a bunch, even if you just bought them we wouldn't need the full 50. I know others have batches already to bring. Also, it could be as much as $15 to $20 a flag. We're not going to dump another grand on it.
Purchase is the last resort.
Okay
I will be on Mumble tonight, for any updates or planning.
@all What are we working on today?
Attendance
- Following up with Network Directors for accurate headcounts/dropouts/no answers
Shield Teams
- Continuing charting
- Working with Rear team members to build out equipment
@ND - Samuel VA Also note, Patrick said he wanted a bunch of smoke devices, I was content with six, bring it up with him please. Also also, make sure people bring their megaphones. Confirm this when you see it, please.
Confirm see it
Just ordered 200+ temporary tattoos with the burner phone number on them.
Brilliant
@Thomas can you please re-post and pin the individual pack list please?

@ND - Eric PA 2 garbage cans
@Alan PA 3 full propane tanks

Remaining items left to reserve:

@ND - Samuel VA Gear we need to account for:
Garbage Bags
Traffic Cones
Federal Flags?
Other Items: @ND - Samuel VA
You need to be prepared to drive the drivers through their route before you pick up the box trucks that morning.
Other Items: @NS - Grant MD
You need to have shifts delegated for people to man the security checkpoint. I'd like you to not be stuck there the whole time, since you need to be at camp. Find some capable people and divy it up 3 or 4 ways.
Other Items: @Mike ID
When will we be getting all the food?
@Thomas I bought the cones already. I will aquire the garbage bags, and the federal flag hunt is on for nw9
@Thomas I’ll take care of that. Will have 3 teams of 2 with 1 hour shifts so they don’t get too bored or fall asleep
@NS - Grant MD Will the coordinates for the pickup/dropsite have the trucks facing the correct way down the street? Will we need to write additional directions to fix this?
They will be facing the correct way for sure
@ND - Samuel VA Any update from Mike?
Mike's role can either make or break the whole action so it's important we hear from him.
I agree; I asked him if his placement on the east coast is certainly Nov. 26th. No answer yet.
@Thomas I'll be landing in New Jersey tomorrow, and then I'll be gathering the supplies throughout the next week, and then showing up with everything that I've gotten on Friday night/ early Saturday
Can you make it Friday, between 12 noon and 12 midnight?
More then likely, yes, the drive isn't too far/ long
Godspeed @Mike ID ✈

Mike what size shirt are tyou?
Oops @Vincent TX
There are a couple extras at the house, and I know one of the network 7 guys is bringing extras. So just get some pants and we can gte your jacket.
Mighty white of you @Vincent TX, hopefully I'll get my bags today
Christopher VA confirms he has/will bring a 16 or 18ft box trailer to our camp. After Philly we had an issue with transporting gear out of the camp (not enough space in trucks), so whatever we have left we will be able to take our 100%
@Mike ID Vincent will make sure you have extra items.
@ND - Samuel VA Very good.
@Mike ID Someone needs to, whomever that is delegated to by @ND - Samuel VA .

@ND - Samuel VA @NS - Grant MD You have authorization to review the OpDoc cover to cover. Please do so with detail in mind, and as soon as can be.
Will do now
@Thomas question, are we going to have persons to stay behind and watch equipment and everything at camp during the event?
Or is that a @NS - Grant MD question?
@Mike ID Uncertain. I have one who will be staying behind, but he may be at the vehicle exchange instead of camp, or he may be at camp. The camp will be on private land with a only a single access road. No outside traffic.
✅ 30 Federal Flags ordered. Amazon estimates it will arrive Tuesday
We will need at least 4 bonfires 🔥 to have people warmed up during the night.
Do any of you guys have access to firewood 🪵
I was under the impression that we weren't doing fires.
We could certainly have guys get some. I assume we can't salvage from the forests nearby?
Yup already did, I will sweet talk them. THERE SHALL BE FIRE 🔥
I’ll handle the fire wood and supplies question. We will be able to forage their acres for fire wood too
I’m getting a hold of some nice logs
Fire wood is super easy to find in large quantities in old growth forested areas. Just takes manpower to source it. Luckily, manpower is something we'll have in quantity.
Remember, still, that we need to enforce the Lights Out from 12 midnight on Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday. Sleep is mandatory during that time unless someone is going to be up to walk security. I will likely be up nearly all that time.
Myself included, I’ll be up. Could we at least have 1 fire 🔥 during that timeframe? It will get 20-25 cold. The guys staying up will need to be warm.
Yes.
We can have this fire a little out of way in proximity to tents so we don’t disturb the sleepers
Each line of these should be marked with some cones.
Very nice. I was worried we would not have enough.
I got a hundred of these little guys we will have plenty of extra
@ND - Samuel VA @NS - Grant MD Do we have anything easy that could be used as a sort of raised platform for speeches, readings, award ceremony announcements? I was thinking I could use the bed of a truck, but that's a bit high.
