Unfortunately I don’t have the needed rocketchat permissions to do that. @Michael TX should have the permissions and I think he has done some setup on the vetting server that is similar.

I think Thomas has the ability to add rocketchat admins. If I can get that permission I should be able to make configuration changes like that.

Can I get the instructions to do it myself? How hard can it be?

Maybe Vincent could do it on my PC once he's back in town.

Go to #announcements and click the channel name in the top left
Click the "Edit" button
Scroll to the bottom of "Edit Room" and expand "Prune"
Toggle "Override Global Retention Policy"
Change "30" to "90"
Make sure "Exclude pinned messages" is enabled and "Prune files only" is disabled
Click "Save".

Someone else should confirm this before you do it so that I am not liable if the rocket chat explodes, because idk what type of weird addons or script changes have been done to this rc instance.

That sounds correct. Probably not a half bad idea to make a new backup anyways if that hasn’t been done recently.

Hey guys, a few months back there was a project to move everyone to the web version of RC, disabling the mobile app. Just FYI, am still using the mobile app with no issues.

If you want me to do anything with testing, etc. I am happy to help.

At the moment we are more informally asking guys to please not use the mobile app. We may make an announcement soon, it hasn't been at the top of the list in terms of organizational subjects to tackle.

I don't think it matters. Only a few people actually know what the numbers are, and even if they did, knowing doesn't make the method obsolete.
