>Using AI to hire
aye
I mean, that's a paddlin
Actually
no
There are some drawbacks for use of primitive computerized hiring technologies, but the costs are borne by the companies implementing them; so they will likely improve over time.
the thing is, if an AI discriminates in order to improve or establish a certain company culture, is that not legitimate?
Like, for example
It is sometimes legitimate, I would say.
If my company uses an AI to filter out people based on certain personality traits, how is that bad?
@ArdBoy Well, _legally speaking_ you would have to justify the test I think.
If I wana hire exclusively weebs who like guns, because my company culture is that or I want the culture to BE that, is that unacceptable?
I do enjoy we call things that are in no way AI, AI
so they don't just get to design a test which is deliberately racist by proxy, with no other benefits.
If it's acceptable for me as a hiring officer to do it, how is using a tool to expedite that any worse?
@oprahsminge I'm just at peace with it at this point.
I get what you're going for and I dig that
@oprahsminge I mean, it's intelligence in the sense that the Central Intelligence Agency gathers intelligence.
re:As long as it isnt functionally racially/etc motivated
But I mean, if a majority of people who are weeb gun owners are white males, and the filter thereby drops people out disproportionately, that is a weird area
@xorgy you mean two completely separate definitions of intelligence?
It wouldn't be that hard to justify if you administered the test to people you'd already hired, and found that the people with better performance reviews happened to score high according to your classifier which used that test.
@oprahsminge They're vaguely related, in such a way which allows you to retcon AI to use the other. (in order to preserve your sanity)
@xorgy they're in no way related.
Just forget it. Agreed to disagree or whatever
