Breach of contract=Give the US Gov the moneys back
Currently, since job history is so important to job seeking, imprisonment is a double whammy against people who have served time.
Does anyone understand what I'm trying to say?
im not sure I saw what you said
oh ok
yeah I'm not sure anyone necessarily disagrees with you
He wants punishment for severe crimes and rehab for non violent ones
I cant wait for saturday
unless you're tim
They spend time in prison, they must pay a price for their actions. But also give them a path to a better life through rehabilitation. Make it much more inviting to go down rehabilitation. If they keep going down the other path, they will receive more punishment.
It's outcome policing instead of trying to gauge the situation on the ground.
That is what I said.
in which case disagreement is what he does
@Dusty Morgan Isn't that what happens now though?
Get to see more sjw cry about goblin slayer episode 2
Okay. Here's a good question. Should people in prison have the right to vote? If you say no, you have to admit that this is suspending their rights until they've served their time, and that would mean it is, in fact, a form of punishment. I think Dusty is right, you can't have one without the other, but that's more a matter of the reality of time in prison.
If the prison did it's job, the prisoner won't reoffend. If they fucked up, we'll know.
Out fo prison, yes.
Now really @Inquisition We are sorely lacking on rehabilitation.
committing a crime means you violated the social contract
We need more rehabilitation centers in prisons.
But the punishment needs to be adjusted to fit the crime.
And drug war needs to end.
by violating that contract you are in effect stating you didn't want to be a part of the social and governmental system
But does rehabilitation work?
I am absolutely in favor of rehabilitation in prison. I've seen the numbers for re-offending
it does
It works.
Honestly as long as we don't get reoffense and we aren't violating human rights, whichever works
There is evidence to support that it does work.
let the prisons spend the money figuring it out
Just needs to be encouraged while the other path is discouraged.
ok saying "it works" isn't evidence
so just post something please
anything
fuck it, it can even be from Occupy Democrats
I'm sure they have a few hundred memes
I like the idea of, if you are not contributing to society, you can't vote. Hence pay not tax and you can't vote, with a few exceptions (education, etc ...).
