2018-10-11 18:59:59 UTC

@Dusty Morgan Isn't that what happens now though?

2018-10-11 19:00:00 UTC

Get to see more sjw cry about goblin slayer episode 2

Okay. Here's a good question. Should people in prison have the right to vote? If you say no, you have to admit that this is suspending their rights until they've served their time, and that would mean it is, in fact, a form of punishment. I think Dusty is right, you can't have one without the other, but that's more a matter of the reality of time in prison.

2018-10-11 19:00:05 UTC

If the prison did it's job, the prisoner won't reoffend. If they fucked up, we'll know.

2018-10-11 19:00:15 UTC

@Tress In prison? no

2018-10-11 19:00:19 UTC

Out fo prison, yes.

2018-10-11 19:00:20 UTC

Now really @Inquisition We are sorely lacking on rehabilitation.

2018-10-11 19:00:27 UTC

yeah definitely not in prison

2018-10-11 19:00:35 UTC

committing a crime means you violated the social contract

2018-10-11 19:00:35 UTC

We need more rehabilitation centers in prisons.

2018-10-11 19:00:45 UTC

But the punishment needs to be adjusted to fit the crime.

2018-10-11 19:00:52 UTC

And drug war needs to end.

2018-10-11 19:00:53 UTC

by violating that contract you are in effect stating you didn't want to be a part of the social and governmental system

2018-10-11 19:00:53 UTC

But does rehabilitation work?

2018-10-11 19:00:56 UTC

I am absolutely in favor of rehabilitation in prison. I've seen the numbers for re-offending

2018-10-11 19:00:57 UTC

it does

2018-10-11 19:01:08 UTC

It works.

2018-10-11 19:01:10 UTC

Honestly as long as we don't get reoffense and we aren't violating human rights, whichever works

2018-10-11 19:01:11 UTC

There is evidence to support that it does work.

2018-10-11 19:01:16 UTC

let the prisons spend the money figuring it out

2018-10-11 19:01:17 UTC

Just needs to be encouraged while the other path is discouraged.

2018-10-11 19:01:18 UTC

ok saying "it works" isn't evidence

2018-10-11 19:01:26 UTC

so just post something please

2018-10-11 19:01:29 UTC

anything

2018-10-11 19:01:40 UTC

fuck it, it can even be from Occupy Democrats

2018-10-11 19:01:46 UTC

I'm sure they have a few hundred memes

2018-10-11 19:01:50 UTC

I like the idea of, if you are not contributing to society, you can't vote. Hence pay not tax and you can't vote, with a few exceptions (education, etc ...).

2018-10-11 19:01:50 UTC

KEK

2018-10-11 19:02:01 UTC

Starship troopers

2018-10-11 19:02:05 UTC

@TraderPropShop Ehh thats eh

2018-10-11 19:02:08 UTC

@TraderPropShop i dislike that idea

2018-10-11 19:02:10 UTC

only people who served can vote

2018-10-11 19:02:10 UTC

The pros for Rehabilitation needs to outweigh the cons for criminal life.

2018-10-11 19:02:10 UTC

Like I get it

2018-10-11 19:02:15 UTC
2018-10-11 19:02:17 UTC

And ther eis a logic to it

2018-10-11 19:02:19 UTC

no way

2018-10-11 19:02:34 UTC

But the issue is, you NEED voting as a social safety valve

2018-10-11 19:02:34 UTC

From the point at which you are able to be drafted until you die you have a right to vote

2018-10-11 19:02:38 UTC

Constitutional rights shouldn't be infringed upon.
