All the authoritarians and street corner bell-ringers are just having their day
**31 days have passed**, in the **US 2,606 have died so far** and the rate is at an **exponentially increasing rate**. I think 200 000 isn't a too high estimate... Especially not if we need at least 18 months for a working vaccine. (don't forget production, logistics)
Not if the curve falls off because of the measures already taken
I see. I hope that happens too, though I have no evidence to support it. Unfortunately.
Chyna
Considering the number of cases is likely much higher than tested, confirmed cases
means the death % drops
more people will get beds as we buy time to ramp up medical facilities, means a better chance of survival
Beds don't just magically appear should you need them
Nor does the staff to men the devices
Plus they(staff) are falling sick themselves
Not seeing the optimism pillars supporting the hope here man, but I am happy to be corrected
200,000 is a very small number
We can lose 90,000 in a bad year just from the flu
even if you don't believe China's numbers...look at South Korea. Italy is just starting to turn the corner.
Yeah, I get it and agree all nations should follow suit
But they haven't been
At least this should help some people, hopefully and not kill too many.
Italy leveling off there too in the total deaths/new daily deaths. They'll show what to expect in the next couple weeks
Thats if italy isnt lyin
Probably not about the deaths, they haven't the capability to really test everyone they need to so as with many places the accuracy of cases is questionable.
well, everyone's lying then because they can't test everyone. I doubt Italy would cover up number of deaths.
why look at italy when you can look at SK?
True
they have been meticulously tracking every single case and isolating them so that is the most accurate number we possibly could get.
Italy has so far not done that because of the limitations: laws and industrial capacity.
Because South Korea locked down early, they have a small country and a unified culture. The US would experience things more like Italy
Wait...I don't understand you **donborvio**. I thought they reopened Wuhan and they are having again problems with the resurgence of cases.
What makes you think that won't happen anywhere else.
I haven't seen reliable reporting that says that.
Ok...
Wuhan is stilly lying about cases so they can get the place opened back up. Beijing said if they go 2 weeks with no new cases it can open back up.
They were worried about it from outside, and banned foreigners. Which is something the US should do until the 18 month period is over
china is still lying
I mean, we saw police and staff refusing treatment for citizens who are crying but aren't allowed in...
is there anyone who does not know that already? why do everyone seem to keep wanting to be the one to say chyna liars scum etc.
Sure, that way it's easy to keep the numbers down.
