Court unironically decides a guy isn't black enough because he doesn't have a membership card.
@XoviaHarmile He tried to get diversity money and the government wanted proof of his black membership
He answered that he joined the NAACP and subscribed to Ebony magazine <:pepelaugh:544857300179877898>
I haven't seen the charts and don't care to, tbh. But I have to imagine that all those new hospitals are running on temporary power plants burning coal
If it can handle the extra demand sure why not
Even then they likely have to burn more
Our own plants use coal to meet higher demand too.
And anyway my explanation doesn't need to make sense. It only needs to make more sense than the extra emissions coming from them burning millions of bodies in secret
Wait, there's someone else here that is also a horse?
I heard Biden wants to start a Sniff and Release program at the border for children.
Alternate headline: China fails to contain epidemic, US most at fault
Useful how?
ah ok
White supremacy is very diverse
I work at a hospital part time. Receptionist/security. I handle hundreds of visitors' licenses in a day. RIP me.
Except it pretty much is
But that's for another channel
Yeah I think he read this one wrong at first. For once the media doesn't seem to be overhyping it
As long as he puts the right people in charge and then signs off on whatever they need he can say whatever he wants
I don't think containment is really an option now. It's just about keeping the hospitals running and converting urgent care facilities into pneumonia units
Trump said it was a woman
Hard to blame Turkey for putting the pressure on really. They have something like 3.5 million Syrians after 9 years of war
Kony 2020
Huge tourism industry
Skiing mostly, this time of year in that region
Seems like a crisis fueled entirely by international travel isn't your ideal globalist conspiracy.
I don't understand why you need there to be this conspiracy?
This is the third or fourth coronavirus that has made the jump to humans in the last couple decades. We knew it was coming
I think the best case scenario is that we keep isolating severe cases and leave normal cases alone. With luck it can split into a second strain that proliferates because the lesser severity allows it to be ignored. Then - and again with luck - if you get that one you gain some immunity to the big one.
If it never splits like that we're sort of just looking at a lifespan capped at 70-80 until there's a vaccine.
@AdamBv1 I've been noticing people changing behavior here in the US, at least in my hospital. First thing that changed was people started stealing our boxes of masks to the point that we need to keep them hidden now. Second change was sick people asking for masks set their used tissues down on the desk while putting them on. Basically we're fucked
Well they need to make sure they have enough bottled water, because
They used to laugh at me for using every free minute to clean surfaces in the main lobby. They aren't laughing now.
I totally get what people are saying when they point out that this isn't the end of the world, for hospitals it looks grim
The OPEC thing is funny. For a while they kept dropping production whenever the us raised exports so that prices could stay stable. Which basically meant the us could sell as much as we wanted at a fixed price because opec kept asking Russia to drop production for us. Seems Russia finally caught on and backed out of that
George Bush's focus on energy independence pretty much made opec irrelevant. Which is why MBS is so focused on diversifying his economy
Is there an original source on that video?
It still makes sense to keep isolating severe cases if this is going to be with us long term.
Isolating severe cases as a matter of policy means that there is a chance a less severe strain can mutate and get ignored because the focus is just on the serious cases. Over time the weaker version will win out.
Andromeda Strain
I love the opec drama. Not that long ago the left was predicting the end of the world because the world was almost out of oil. Now the problem is we have too much
Depends on the cancer which is why they often do genetic testing on it now
@Malac Why am I finding so many papers about apoptosis in cancer that contradicts what you are saying?
That is the abstract to that paper, yes.
And this, boys, is why biology undergrads all work at Burger King.
@Malac College drop-out a long time ago
I don't disagree
Submerge patient in acid. Cancer destroyed.
But Europe is closed
I love it. Let the Afghans into Greece but don't let the Italians into the rest of Europe
Got high on those supplements
I usually get research papers off sci hub
Must be that someone inside the World Health Organization got sick

This is why I like Pakman. Agree or disagree with his views, I don't think anyone can deny that he puts truth and values over politics.
Canadian bots
What is this Taiwan? You mean the PRC's Taiwan Province?
Another victory for the communist party
Is she a pedo?
I wouldn't let her anywhere near my kid's gender rubies.
Most people will end up getting this and health workers know that. The game now is to slow this down so that it doesn't all happen at once.
Hospitals are able to treat surges in trauma patients but none of them have the equipment they need to deal with extra respiratory ICU cases.
@AdamBv1 That twitter thread about Italy has a lot of language like "may become necessary"
It's frightening how quickly it has come to where it is, but that guidance alone is not evidence that this sort of triage is happening.
Yeah it doesn't take much to push an ICU to the breaking point. Most hospitals don't really have very many ICU beds. And that's just equipment; In the US, intensive care at the best hospitals means a 1:2 or even 1:1 nursing ratio. That's just not going to be an option.
I think California actually has a law mandating a 1:2 ratio in the ICU
As far as PPE, most of our staff had to recertify on respirators a few weeks ago. I'd expect that other hospitals have been doing the same.
They didn't make me do the fit test because I'm non-clinical. I'm just the guy every patient's family coughs on.
Barely
Visitor receptionist
Gloves optional, masks not allowed unless we're showing symptoms due to the shortage
I don't care if I get it. No kids, elderly relatives hundreds of miles away, and I'm 31 and healthy. The issue is me contaminating a couple hundred people in a single day
Yeah we keep them behind the counter now. Too many people were walking out the door with whole boxes.
So maybe it is really happening and not just early guidance
I'm helping out with busy work in the ICU tomorrow so I might have more info in 24 hours
I question the wisdom of having the guy that sits in the seat at the front door also wander around the ICU while potentially contaminated but whatever
That's not unusual. At a certain point even in the best conditions it's just cruel to put someone through that kind of intense care in their final moments
A lot of this is westerners realizing we're still mortal
Thanks @Sq crcl
I meant thanks because we were just talking about that topic
Obviously not thanks for giving us the wuhan. I blame you for that entirely.
We're not. The people saying to disregard this because only boomers will die are the callous ones
I think there will be riots in major cities when the major quarantines start
The NEET revolution begins!
My hospital wants us to self-quarantine for 14 days "If you have travelled domestically or internationally by air, ship, train or bus" or visited a specific location nearby known to have been affected.
I mean a specific building nearby that I don't want to name
what was that tweet?
Oh the one right above
lol
Suddenly open borders aren't so great, right El Salvador?
That gif is perfect for my next find.
Is this the best they can do?
Chelsea Manning... didn't kill herself?
Just the flu
Spanish flu was special because of how hard it hit young, healthy people.
Will he declare himself President for Life and enact martial law?
holy shit
