I don't remember ever having a flu last that long except one year I had a lingering cough for 6 weeks but felt fine

2020-03-30 16:13:24 UTC

Don't think people are taking the necessary precautions so the final headcount will be much worse

2020-03-30 16:14:18 UTC

Florida is special

2020-03-30 16:15:16 UTC

Sure dude, however these people have relatives and friends and they do travel...

They don't get it

2020-03-30 16:16:16 UTC

well people suck

2020-03-30 16:16:19 UTC

it is known

2020-03-30 16:17:08 UTC

Florida and Louisiana are good examples of why we can't just expect this to go away in the summer.

well I think that is just wishful thinking on the experts part. The underlying theory on why temperature might hamper virus spread and UV radiation on viruses is well-known, but, betting on that only is a mistake.

2020-03-30 16:18:43 UTC

Seriously, the military lockdown at least could help in that. Because seemingly people (most) are too dumb and rebellious/ignorant to do as they are being 'asked to'....Same as in many parts of Spain actually and in Italy too...

2020-03-30 16:18:57 UTC

The dark part of me is happy giving this break from humans to the world, letting it recover anyway

2020-03-30 16:19:14 UTC

and if they are too dumb, well then they'll get Darwined I guess

nah @Sq crcl let it spread in the USA I do not care <:pot_of_kek:544849795433496586>

2020-03-30 16:19:19 UTC

The problem is the collateral

I wish it was that simple but it kills family, friends, and any other old people who happen to come in contact with the young and fearlessly dumb and not so much the retards themselves.

this is why I advocate for some type of social stigmatization against such behaviours <:smugon:512048583806025739>

no need to get the military involved if people go homeless because of such behavious or face serious social punishment <:pepelaugh:544857300179877898>

more evil than google you say? Nah, just realistic.

The problem of super spreaders might just solve itself if someone grief because of their loss and takes it out on retards like them, I would not shed a tear <:pepelaugh:544857300179877898> sorry but if you cannot even take basic precautions as a teenager, why should you live <:hypersmugon:544638648721604608> ?

Kirk, the most red-pilled of the Federation

https://doi.org/10.1136/GUTJNL-2020-320926 A very interesting read where they've got a fairly large sample size better than other studies I've seen and posted here. It is from 24 march 2020, I might have posted it already.

2020-03-30 17:04:38 UTC

They don't flat out state it anywhere but if I'm reading that right it looks like you have at least double the chance to end up in sever or critical condition if you present GI symptoms.

2020-03-30 17:05:17 UTC

Maybe closer to 3x chance.

``` Of patients with cOViD-19 with gi symptoms, 17 (22.97%) and 23 (31.08%) had severe/critical types and family clustering, respectively, significantly higher than those without gi symptoms, 47 (8.14%) and 118 (20.45%). ``` you mean this paragraf? because they are mostly expressing what they've got their hands on the patients. Table 1 is a pretty good indication percentage wise. @AdamBv1
@AdamBv1 This is what you should really read is the discussion tbh. ``` We further analysed the epidemiological and clinical char-acteristics of patients with COVID-19 with GI symptoms. We identified a significantly higher rate of >38.5°C fever and family clustering, increased complications of ARDS and a high severity tendency (rate of severe/critical type, mechanical ventilation and ICU admission) in patients with COVID-19 with GI symp-toms, when compared with those without GI symptoms. We suspect that GI symptoms may cause patients with COVID-19 to be more prone to electrolyte disturbance, such as significantly decreased serum sodium levels (p=0.016), and hence they trend towards the severe/critical type of the disease. ```
2020-03-30 17:10:43 UTC
Yeah, table one shows 2.8x the chance of severe/critical.
2020-03-30 17:11:13 UTC
They do admit their study seems to show a higher than normal incidence of GI tract issues than reported elsewhere.
Ye, but that is honeslty expected, because if you have GI symptoms you lose body fluids more rapidly etc, the severity and lack of water etc contirbutes to the immune response.
But it is always nice to have some evidence for your hypothesis
But then I look at these numbers given by the Wyoming Department of Health.
