One of the motivations of colonization was "White Man's Burden", which was concerned with spreading enlightenment ideas to other cultures and civilizations, with the ultimate goal of assimilating them. This is also the motivation in Neoliberalism and Neoconservatism. I'm criticizing this aspect and this is what also led to mass immigration later.
