a program to provide father figures to single parent children?

2018-11-03 18:59:06 UTC

Would a rich single parent household also have access to this mentorship programs?

2018-11-03 18:59:09 UTC

Well that is the long term solution, that doesn't resolve present disparities between classes. I think applications should be based on the wealth of the students family along with their parent's backgrounds. The white person who grew up poor with uneducated parents had to overcome more obstacles than a rich black person with college educated parents.

yes

2018-11-03 18:59:15 UTC

You mean, big brothers? Alright exists.

2018-11-03 18:59:19 UTC

this program would be specific to parenthood

2018-11-03 18:59:22 UTC

yup expand

2018-11-03 18:59:24 UTC

we need more

2018-11-03 18:59:25 UTC

Yeah, but it kind of sucks, taekahn.

2018-11-03 18:59:33 UTC

kids need dads

2018-11-03 18:59:41 UTC

that i can get behind

2018-11-03 18:59:52 UTC

And there's the looming question of how we control for quality with these programs, but we'll *never* get out of that rabbit hole.

2018-11-03 18:59:53 UTC

but i'd rather see people get married and have children then encourage more single mothers

2018-11-03 18:59:56 UTC

Kids need dads,

Adults need Tim

its a dark world i say

2018-11-03 19:00:03 UTC

a figure who knows how to get shit done, build some cool shit and show confidence

2018-11-03 19:00:06 UTC

problem is that state workers can be subject to diferrent motivation and care for kid becomes a job instead, savvy?

2018-11-03 19:00:21 UTC

and part knowledge too

2018-11-03 19:00:23 UTC

2018-11-03 19:00:33 UTC

a bad dad is better than no dad

2018-11-03 19:00:38 UTC

usually

2018-11-03 19:00:43 UTC

disagree

2018-11-03 19:00:49 UTC

2018-11-03 19:00:53 UTC

2018-11-03 19:00:54 UTC

define bad

2018-11-03 19:00:56 UTC

we have a dadless problem here

2018-11-03 19:00:57 UTC

kek duuh

2018-11-03 19:01:00 UTC

yeah but deadbeat does not equal rapist Tim 😄

2018-11-03 19:01:00 UTC

2018-11-03 19:01:03 UTC

bad being deadbeat

2018-11-03 19:01:06 UTC

900 k babies born without dads this year

2018-11-03 19:01:06 UTC

like a stupid, portly, lazy dad

2018-11-03 19:01:09 UTC

is beter than no dad

2018-11-03 19:01:13 UTC

yes

2018-11-03 19:01:19 UTC

But even a dad who works a lot and is tired on weekends, and yells at the kids when he's upset, is still better than a fatherless household, yes.

2018-11-03 19:01:19 UTC

hey, Stupid people can be nice too 😮

2018-11-03 19:01:28 UTC

they just can't part as much knowledge

2018-11-03 19:01:31 UTC

we need cultural programs

2018-11-03 19:01:37 UTC

culture is the root

2018-11-03 19:01:42 UTC

but if you need more dads, hit it with more men interested to be teachers to educate kids, not just collect a paycheck
