all schools should be merit based but low income people need help when they are 5 years old

2018-11-03 18:58:07 UTC

Right, so we should create government programs to give extra resources to poorer groups.

2018-11-03 18:58:20 UTC

extra resources?

2018-11-03 18:58:22 UTC

no, it can derail into dependable community

2018-11-03 18:58:23 UTC

or just resources

2018-11-03 18:58:35 UTC

That way they can have advantages rich people don't have, to balance out the resources rich people have but they don't.

2018-11-03 18:58:37 UTC

that which is given has no value, it must be earned

2018-11-03 18:58:40 UTC

Resources available for those who need i think

2018-11-03 18:58:40 UTC

a mentor will not create dependency

2018-11-03 18:58:49 UTC

no, but a program will

2018-11-03 18:58:56 UTC

i mean free cash that is

2018-11-03 18:59:00 UTC

a program to provide father figures to single parent children?

2018-11-03 18:59:06 UTC

Would a rich single parent household also have access to this mentorship programs?

2018-11-03 18:59:09 UTC

Well that is the long term solution, that doesn't resolve present disparities between classes. I think applications should be based on the wealth of the students family along with their parent's backgrounds. The white person who grew up poor with uneducated parents had to overcome more obstacles than a rich black person with college educated parents.

2018-11-03 18:59:12 UTC

yes

2018-11-03 18:59:15 UTC

You mean, big brothers? Alright exists.

2018-11-03 18:59:19 UTC

this program would be specific to parenthood

2018-11-03 18:59:22 UTC

yup expand

2018-11-03 18:59:24 UTC

we need more

2018-11-03 18:59:25 UTC

Yeah, but it kind of sucks, taekahn.

2018-11-03 18:59:33 UTC

kids need dads

2018-11-03 18:59:41 UTC

that i can get behind

2018-11-03 18:59:52 UTC

And there's the looming question of how we control for quality with these programs, but we'll *never* get out of that rabbit hole.

2018-11-03 18:59:53 UTC

but i'd rather see people get married and have children then encourage more single mothers

2018-11-03 18:59:56 UTC

Kids need dads,

Adults need Tim

its a dark world i say

2018-11-03 19:00:03 UTC

a figure who knows how to get shit done, build some cool shit and show confidence

2018-11-03 19:00:06 UTC

problem is that state workers can be subject to diferrent motivation and care for kid becomes a job instead, savvy?

2018-11-03 19:00:21 UTC

and part knowledge too

2018-11-03 19:00:23 UTC

2018-11-03 19:00:56 UTC
