hmm, traps are becoming more mainstream nowadays. The app Tik Tok is full of them

2018-11-06 16:12:27 UTC

Oh, donde votar?

2018-11-06 16:12:38 UTC

I suppose it could be a false flag.

2018-11-06 16:12:45 UTC

I'm suggesting that someone is purposefully making it trend just so they can then see people debate the implications

2018-11-06 16:12:51 UTC

Just get some programs to spam the search term.

2018-11-06 16:13:18 UTC

I doubt it was searched much before so to get thousands of % increase wouldn't be hard at all. It's relative change, not absolute.

2018-11-06 16:13:21 UTC

Donde votar today

2018-11-06 16:13:30 UTC

Can we compare with the proportional growth of the search term "where to vote"?

2018-11-06 16:13:54 UTC

Yes, I'd much rather see absolute change than relative

2018-11-06 16:13:58 UTC

Heh, Google doesn't need any third-party bot support in order to artificially inflate 'donde votar'.

2018-11-06 16:14:02 UTC

could just as well be search shaping to shape the behaivor of those searching in a form of subconcious programming. Google did admit to changing the rankings of search results in order to influence people as well

2018-11-06 16:14:09 UTC

But yes, do vote today, everyone. If you haven't yet, take an hour or so to research the choices, their stances and their past activity.

2018-11-06 16:14:16 UTC

10 vs 350 is a 3500% change

2018-11-06 16:14:26 UTC

Of course Google is up to its usual election meddling.

2018-11-06 16:14:33 UTC

But in absolute terms it's inconsequential

2018-11-06 16:15:31 UTC

There are thousands or millions of search phrases fluctuating at a rate of 3500% at any given moment.

2018-11-06 16:15:49 UTC

I can see google putting that into the autocompletes of people in regions that have larger hispanic populations automatically in order to influence their voting pattern (the donde votar term)

2018-11-06 16:16:07 UTC

I wouldn't expect any less from Google.

2018-11-06 16:16:20 UTC

Exactly, because seldom used terms can spike quite easily just in a small town and the relative change would be big but the absolute change small

2018-11-06 16:17:27 UTC

dont you know its russian bots.

2018-11-06 16:22:16 UTC

Whelp, to change the subject, I actually have TWO civic duties today. The reason why I am still around is that not only is today voting day but I am on grand jury duty every Tuesday for the next two months. Today is day one. Should be interesting.

2018-11-06 16:23:30 UTC

when will results come out?

2018-11-06 16:23:31 UTC

well then

2018-11-06 16:23:54 UTC

wait, who thought election day was an okay day to have a trail?

2018-11-06 16:24:06 UTC

Results will start around 6pm EST today and continue for about two weeks after that.

2018-11-06 16:24:22 UTC

Oof.

2018-11-06 16:24:28 UTC

Absentee ballots

2018-11-06 16:24:36 UTC

Have fun, Cat. They always turn me away when I get chosen for jury duty.

2018-11-06 16:24:42 UTC

And that won't include the inevitable lawsuits about outcomes

2018-11-06 16:24:43 UTC

Haven't even gotten past the lobby.

2018-11-06 16:24:46 UTC

And the recounts

2018-11-06 16:25:08 UTC

I think we may not know what the Congress will look like until New Years Day, if then... 😕

2018-11-06 16:26:16 UTC

They didn't give me a choice. It was totally random and for grand jury they don't do all the questionnaires.

2018-11-06 16:31:13 UTC

I swear, Blizzard are purposely making every new heroes OP before having to nerf them

2018-11-06 16:31:36 UTC

Makes the player base think that they're actually listening/doing something

2018-11-06 16:31:38 UTC

Because they want to please the whamen.

2018-11-06 16:32:08 UTC

Respecc the wahmen.

2018-11-06 16:34:36 UTC

Well women are half the potential market for just about anything, so corporations who ignore that demographic cede half the market to their competitors. That said, women are not monolithic and many of us don't like to be pandered to. The noisy ones do, but certainly not all.
