I used to think low pop is the way to go and breed for strength was a sound plan. The older i got the more it doesn't make sense. You want to ride the edge of pop limit to pop out more high end iq individuals who can hopefully make miraculous breakthroughs an catapult our species forward. Also you want genetic diversity as you don't know what genes could mutate into something beneficial to humanity. What if a disease comes along that kills the majority of humanity but some rare disease is the immunity thus saving the species.
