!agree
Tim is so cool, het should change his name to Tim Cool
im just wondering what he's smuggling under his beanie
we all know this whole "journalism" thing is just a way for tim to get to places so he can smuggle valueable objects in his beanie
i like young leftists, they look so funny when they are protesting their silly things :D
charts like that make me want to use no labels at all
Elon is cool, he has a vision
bezos is sad figure, doesnt pay his workers enough, just does it for money
if you are really valueable for the company, then ur boss will liste
if all you have is an art studies degree, then... well maybe a warehouse job is a great job
if they dont like it, they can look for something else
idk, ive worked at some meat plant for a couple of weeks
yeah hmm, i wont put the blame on boomers too much, they cant possible imagine how it is to grow up in the current year. its hard to put yourself in their shoes as well
they grew up in a time where work was harder (times, effort wise), but the reason for work where also better, i think they where more motivated, not distracted as much. (also they got payed more for that kind of work, i think)
they seem hella ignorant on some stuff, times are different now. where i live, housing prizes have risen so much, that means that people that owned houses just got richer, and the ones that didnt got poorer
its weird... americans want higher minimum wage, but also want open borders to let in low skilled workers,
and then complain about getting fired cuz some immigrant wants to do their job for less ๐ ๐
tey wont care even if they live near poor people
im not rich, and i dont care about poor people, and i live around them
yeah, most people dont know about that. i wonder why that is exactly
i dunno, it should be in the education system right?
like... economy 101
yeah, im also european, and my country is paying even less than the required 2% of gdp on military for nato...
so, thanks americans for protecting europe, we should be doing it ourselves, but we dont have enough money cuz... we pay shitloads of tax on healthcare :P
we do buy loads of american products, and are envelopted in american culture
maybe that was the trade off that was made after ww2
we protect u, but ... we also influence your culture
soyboy is more a stereotype of a personality than... the actual effects of soy hehe :P
i guess u guys already knew that
this whole respect thing has gotten out of hand
respect had a specific meaning, in that it had to be earned.
its being conflated with civility too much.
on the divorce thing
mostly women decide to divorce,
men usually lose in divorce courts.
ah no
scribble is a gamer
we are never going to win
women tend to get annoyed when the conversation isnt about them
sometimes, people "fixing things" that arent broken, are the problem
what should they do exactly? and what is it that you do, that makes you excempt from that category?
@Vigil so you talk about the problems? but do you actually do something about it?
you say you are in an educated position, thats kind of subjective, educated on what? not on organizing people it seems, you need specific skills, or a talent to be able to bring people together and actually do something good for the world, imo its very rare
most people just live their lives, and pretend that they are doing something good
what thing do you want to change anyway? it sounds so newspeak... "i wanna change the world", it sounds very utopian and adolescent like
which is fine, but... i dont wanna burst ur bubble, its hard to change things, and if you want to change something that other people think shouldnt be changed, then maybe ur in the wrong location. idk (i mean, maybe the surrounding people, are not like you, not that ur in the wrong place here)
that sounds very familiar to how amsterdam is doing now btw (im from the NL)
@Vigil well in that case, i'd just not try to worry too much about changing people or the world. still have the mindset of improving it in any way you can, but dont beat urself up over the fact that many people surrounding you dont have this vision.
i think its rare, maybe for your age or your enviroment.
try to find some like minded individuals, maybe start a book club, networking etc
hehe i had an overprotective mom as well :P hehe somewhat
yeah its rough man, i dont know exactly how it affected you, but i feel like i havent been out confronting chaos enough
if thats the case for you as well, then you might wanna try putting yourself in unfamiliar situations to correct it slowly
yeah he's great, i dont always agree with him, but he's definitly worth a listen
he makes you think and tries to make you look a bit further ahead
i'd reccomend jordan peterson as well, and particularily on the brain structure and politics.
ive come to the view that both the left and right view the world in a different way, and both ways are sort of viable
its interesting right? how he talks about politics, left and right... and brains
he asked; "why do we have 2 hemispheres?" and most animals have it as well
oh yeah i think ive heard of her, liana k had a small role in the gamergate controversy
haha,
"goddamn socialists...
america has ruined politics"
how bout socialists ruined politics... america is just a continent with people, you cant hate the people cuz that would be racist, so ur like "hurdur murica dumb hehe"
meanwhile, if someone says "oh those africans and their polluttion, why dont they just clean up their shit" then u'd be like "nonono thats ALSO america's fault"
i agree with u guys, but... i think its the wrong way to approach these issues (when talking to people you or i would dissagree with, i mean)
i am interested in how this could work, hypothetically,
so muslims in the west, how should they act? how should they adapt to the culture? should they adapt? why? why not?
there are some things in islamic culture that are opposed to values in the western culture, like the praying, and the views on women and minorities, and well... enlightenment values really, seperating religion from state, respecting other religions worldviews etc...
@Stefan Payne yeah, i already told you, i agree with u guys' position :P
they see islamic law above the law of their "host" country lets say
what about the idea that islam should split off ? like... european islam? (enlightened islam)
personally i dont think its going to work, and personally i think they should do this outside of europe xD
haha, but people that arent aware of the dangers of islam, think that the "radical" muslims are radical, cuz of racism or some other nebulous hard to check thing xD
theres a category of muslims that i can talk to easily, and agree with on a lot of issues, but they are hard to find, and usually are politically incorrect
they understand that demography is destiny, and the ones that i talked to are for reduced immigration from muslim countries.
But these would probably be the first targets for extremists to shut down their speech if the muslim mob becomes big enough
yeah, its very weird that its happening in the west
muslims get a pass when rioting and terrorizing neighborhoods... in my country, they sometimes refuse to shut down mosques where extremist activity has been happening, but the worst thing is, you hardly ever hear about it on the news :S
yeah that scares me a bit, some leftists (the more extreme ones), are for muslim immigration (that usually have high birthrates), but hate having kids themselves...
like.. are they really that confident in the idea that these muslims will become "westerners" in a couple of generations? :S i dont understand
@Dr.Wol oh yeah
i think thats the core issue that you just touched upon, there is a large group of people in the west like that
"what do you mean? why would other people come here and do bad things?"
"they are only violent because they are oppressed"
