It is, I feel like if they weren't given coverage by the media they would be in a better position. A post-op trans person usually can pass or at least look enough like their chosen gender that they will be fine and could operate within an already rather accepting society with little discrimination. The mass consciousness of transgenderism has caused greater controversy and harm to the idea and issue of transgenderism.

There is unsavory people that will take advantage of any loopholes if no one makes a effort to put in safeguards incase someone abuses it.

Well it is gender dysmorphia, but it isn't necessarily a delusion, and sometimes the best treatment for the dysmorphia is to change your gender.

By letting society naturally accept trans people, they wouldn't be suffering these type of issues we see today.

Gender dysmorphia can be innate in a person but like many other mental conditions it can be pushed onto someone or can be the result of other factors. I personally think gender reassignment surgery should only be given to those who have no other option of resolving the condition.

@Paradox by that same reasoning depression would be classified as a delusion but we don't go around demeaning people with depression for having something wrong with their brain and saying they are just making it up.
