2019-12-06 22:04:55 UTC

A sports car made by the Soviet state run car manufacturer.

2019-12-06 22:05:06 UTC

The door looks kinda weird

2019-12-06 22:05:13 UTC

But it looks like a British car

2019-12-06 22:05:17 UTC

Like a Jaguar

2019-12-06 22:05:54 UTC

I like alot of Soviet cars, it's just the ones you see now haven't been cared for very well.

2019-12-06 22:06:13 UTC

Since you know, they havnt been made for 30 years.

Cataclysm DDA has a better system

2019-12-07 00:50:15 UTC

Cashcards, atms and bartering in the style of FO1 and 2. Bottlecaps shesh, they have no value. Even melting them down isn't really that great and scrap metal could probably be salvaged in better ways, which is all they'd be good for

2019-12-07 00:51:32 UTC

Food will be the currency

2019-12-07 00:51:37 UTC

Prove me wrong

2019-12-07 00:52:07 UTC

bullets will be currency

2019-12-07 00:52:17 UTC

food is perishable, bullets arent

2019-12-07 00:54:45 UTC

Yeah..... Currency can't really be perishable unless you want people only to use it immediately once a year...

2019-12-07 00:55:22 UTC

Currency has the value it has, because we give it that value and recognize it.

2019-12-07 00:55:40 UTC

We could use sand as currency, if we regulated it, and it was recognized by people.

2019-12-07 00:55:46 UTC

bottlecaps made sense in fallout because it was the equivalent to a bottle of water or some shit

2019-12-07 00:55:46 UTC

GG @Deleted User, you just advanced to level 4!

2019-12-07 00:55:51 UTC

thats how I remember it

2019-12-07 00:56:33 UTC

Water is abundant and can be boiled, so that makes it less of a problem or valuable

2019-12-07 00:57:09 UTC

Boiling water only removes basic impurities, in a serious situation, it would be unusable.

2019-12-07 00:57:39 UTC

Well water and food will be the main currency or reward for work until something properly organized takes from

2019-12-07 00:57:43 UTC

Which will take a good while

2019-12-07 00:58:11 UTC

Since it will require several communities to agree and be in contact and so on

2019-12-07 00:58:28 UTC

I could see that, as the natural course of society, we went from a bartering and trading society, and Evolved into using currency.

2019-12-07 00:58:33 UTC

Food and barter

2019-12-07 00:58:44 UTC

Yeah

2019-12-07 00:59:06 UTC

food is perishable 😑

2019-12-07 00:59:18 UTC

Makes it more valuable

2019-12-07 00:59:24 UTC

Because you all need your god damn food

2019-12-07 00:59:25 UTC

Currency is handier, because it doesn't need to be a large physical object, it's easily made and regulated aswell

2019-12-07 00:59:29 UTC

And not everyone can produce it

2019-12-07 00:59:31 UTC

no it means its impossible to circulate

2019-12-07 00:59:56 UTC

Vacuum sealing, canning, drying, smoking, salting?

2019-12-07 01:00:22 UTC

There are plenty of ways to make it last long enough to get to the belly that needs it in exchange for whatever

2019-12-07 01:00:23 UTC

Canning can last up to 20 years, so that makes a point.

2019-12-07 01:01:09 UTC

Well.....

2019-12-07 01:01:18 UTC

Actually, thats how we use to do it.

2019-12-07 01:01:47 UTC

With our modern streamlined, convienence over quality format now, they will last 6 years when stored right.
