@DuckHead we vote people for bundestag. The bundestag elects the chancelor
@Kibec the museums that are effected are federally funded. They are government institutions
@4AM_critter 🐉 but there must be more government institutions
Yes there are
@4AM_critter 🐉 so why did the choose museums ? 😄
it's not a complete list but shows the major ones
@DuckHead shes also not that important. she cant veto bills, the only things she controls more than the normal member of the Bundestag is in regards to one of the secret service institutions and the governmental press releases.
"Nine federal departments will be shuttered as the government shuts down this weekend. They are:
Department of the Treasury
Department of Agriculture
Homeland Security Department
Department of the Interior
Department of State
Department of Housing and Urban Development
Department of Transportation
Department of Commerce
Department of Justice"
"Other institutions have announced preparations for a partial shutdown. The Smithsonian said it will be able to use existing funds to keep its 19 museums and national zoo open to the public through Jan. 1."
@Redneo so chancellor as a title is more similar to a countries Prime Minister rather than the President?
Might be
Shed also be in control in a very limited set of emergencies, like a surprising defensive war on the terretory of the BRD(Bundesrepublic Deutschland, federal republic of germany).
fair enough
@AHeroQuest rieding the news about it right now and thansk to everyone btw :3 lets keep the conversation going 😄
I got my mechanical keyboard in the mail now
👍
hmm
They should simply require that you not attempt to use your position of employment to enhance a boycott.
boycott is sexist
they have to call it personcott
The anti-BDS laws are blatantly unconstitutional. And treasonous.
i.e. if you are a speech pathologist, that you do not use your SP sessions to produce that form of political outcome
well, I don't know if they're unconstitutional
it's not that you're being asked not to boycott
it's that you're being restricted from the job
for example, if I suddenly agreed with white nationalists, companies could almost certainly require that I not have those opinions, even public employers.
Restraining political advocacy in the workplace has nothing whatsoever to do with requiring a fucking oath to buy Israeli.
it's not exactly an oath to buy israeli
It's an oath to not not-buy Israeli.
it's just more or less "in order to be employed here, you must not be actively discriminating against Israeli businesses"
it's not an oath
in the purest sense at least
it is an employment agreement
It's disgusting.
idunno
I think it's kinda questionable
especially as it pertains to the private property of the employed
but it is not plainly a speech issue
