@ExceptionalFeather its not a connected morals

2019-01-02 19:14:54 UTC

@GoldenPhoenix the failure of man isn’t proof that the scriptures are failures.

2019-01-02 19:15:01 UTC

quick search tells me i was maybe right on Buddhism

2019-01-02 19:15:04 UTC

religion did 1 thing is made a universal accepted moral system

2019-01-02 19:15:24 UTC

and most cases overide cultural morals

2019-01-02 19:15:31 UTC

no, it's not, but functionally there will be no difference. there will always be deviants who go outside the societal norm

2019-01-02 19:15:46 UTC

well yes, I am also considering morals without religion probably based on religous morals

2019-01-02 19:15:47 UTC

Yeas

2019-01-02 19:15:54 UTC

well, not exactly. Hinduism is the other

2019-01-02 19:16:17 UTC

if you have individuals who dont have any religion argue over what is right and wrong it could be a endless list

2019-01-02 19:16:35 UTC

whether religion is involved or not. that doesn't mean that utilitarian morality or other methods are going to be any less effetive

2019-01-02 19:16:41 UTC

necessarily

2019-01-02 19:17:04 UTC

@GoldenPhoenix they have already failed.

2019-01-02 19:17:18 UTC

I have friends who are atheist that never was raised religious didnt care for it but he believed from the dept of his heart hurting others is just bad

2019-01-02 19:17:24 UTC

Well it helps to right morals down, and perhaps tell stories to help make them easier to understand, maybe do a ritual to help remind when distracted

2019-01-02 19:17:27 UTC

and i have other friends who saw it differently

2019-01-02 19:17:31 UTC

oops just created religion

2019-01-02 19:18:07 UTC

the Aboriginals of australia . . were kindof . . silly

2019-01-02 19:18:39 UTC

Imagine my shock.

Values differ from group to group.

2019-01-02 19:18:51 UTC

when the british brought camels to australia the aboriginals added that the gods created that animal . . from so and so reason . . like . . No we brougt it here . . NO the gods made it lol

2019-01-02 19:19:19 UTC

But there are a lot of things they all agree on...are there justifications for these ideals that don't require religion?

2019-01-02 19:19:31 UTC

Some central Americans saw Europeans as gods

2019-01-02 19:19:42 UTC

Hah . . most of them were canibalist

2019-01-02 19:19:51 UTC

I am, actually, a minor deity myself.

2019-01-02 19:20:13 UTC

2017 we had cannibalists give themselves up to police because they were sick of eating human flesh

2019-01-02 19:20:55 UTC

@Salacious Swanky Cat. What minority are you talking about now? The religious authoritarians? Thieves? Murderers?

2019-01-02 19:21:01 UTC

Japan has a endless list of gods

2019-01-02 19:21:05 UTC

fairys and deitys

2019-01-02 19:21:10 UTC

as they accept any religion

2019-01-02 19:21:24 UTC

its like Shinto is like the agnostic of all pagan religions

2019-01-02 19:21:28 UTC

it believes in all at once

2019-01-02 19:21:36 UTC

because its "possible"

2019-01-02 19:21:45 UTC

Not all forms of oppression are bad...exiling murderers is technically oppression.

2019-01-02 19:21:53 UTC

yeah

2019-01-02 19:22:02 UTC

different punishments

2019-01-02 19:22:03 UTC

How about pedophiles? Shoild we consider them over the saftey of children?

2019-01-02 19:22:18 UTC

lol someones is asking the hard questions ?

2019-01-02 19:22:43 UTC

Speaking of wich . . What do you guys honestly thing about these No maps

2019-01-02 19:22:43 UTC

No, I'm arguing for "supporting the majority" as a society.

2019-01-02 19:22:49 UTC

trying to be mainstream

2019-01-02 19:22:51 UTC

@LittleGiantJ any minority really. Utilitarianism fails because it cannot produce equal enforcement of law.
