@EndangeredProdigy I'm saying all things being equal....genocide and ethnic supremacy is much worst then indiscriminate killing
I heard you the first time
I said no it's not
killing is bad regardless of the context
@EndangeredProdigy Context matters...thats why we have premeditated murder..crime of passion involuntary etc
involuntary is totally different than murder
and crime of passion vs premeditated is bullshit
@Kelz I disagree with you. First because Stalin was not "indiscriminate." He murdered his enemies the same as Hitler. Second, if you think the reasons someone murders people by the millions makes a difference then I fear your desire to give Stalin a pass has warped your judgement.
The main issue between hitler and Stalin, is the preferential treatment to communism establishment media gave it, that allowed many more deaths to happen.
@EndangeredProdigy How so...Alot of people were killed thru starvation....that sounds like government negligence thru government planning (communism)
so your excusing mao creating famines that killed 200 million chinese for not being 'ethnic supremacy' because at least it wasn't as bad as the 11 million halocaust victims
Stalin starved them on purpose
it wasn't an accident
**Beatnik Hearse#9687** just left the server.
When you are taking about tens and hundreds of thousands dead does it matter who is worse?
It was the Americans that tried to save the Ukranians
They are both abhorrent
Thank you Americans
We are saved
@CasualSailor Yes it does matter......Stalin killed people who he thought were betraying him and killing people for reasons such as self defense etc is a big difference from genociding people based on nothing but their race
Can you do the whole saving thing again? @Khanclansith
"Joseph Stalin, leader of the Soviet Union, set in motion events designed to cause a famine in the Ukraine to destroy the people there seeking independence from his rule. As a result, an estimated 7,000,000 persons perished in this farming area, known as the breadbasket of Europe, with the people deprived of the food they had grown with their own hands."
stalin saw all living beings as betraying him
Hitler thought Jews were betraying him
I hate the "who is worse" debates, it's like middle school Batman vs superman arguments.
@Misomania I said all things being euqal
Herbert Hover of all people orgnized the releif efforts of American Private Charities
So if you are justifying stalin on those grounds you are absolving Hitler
@Kelz That's pretty warped thinking. So, if I murder you to steal your wallet it is somehow better than if I murder you because of your race? I don't think so. This kind of thinking is why I don't believe in "hate crimes." All murders are "hate crimes." Otherwise they are call manslaughter.
I cant have like 10 convos...lets slow this down
so because Stalin thought that people were betraying him it makes it less bad for him to have killed millions of people? @Kelz
@Kelz remember they signed a peace treaty? Do you know why germany broke that truce? because he knew a fellow mass murdering psychopath when he saw one and knew it was simply a matter of whom backstabbed the other first. He saw himself in stalin and knew that stalin saw himself in hitler
Perhaps if you framed the original question differently
Seems like a poisoned mind eroded from severe digestion of identity politics.
its not about who is morally worse
Seriously lets all slow down
and take this one at time
go ahead
Their were like 10 points being made
