@Kura he is the most alpha of gaming channels
As pirate said, I'd rather have an article that I can get through in a quarter of the time
fat neckbeard that flipflops between hardcore MGTOW and SJW depending on whether or not he's getting laid

*fat jokes hahahaha*
hurrrrr durrrrrr

turns out you can't get away with letting kids gamble forever
yeet
2008 was fifa
Tshirt that's actually correct though
traps are niggers
@coattailsandbowties im out of tutorial now
so mobile games didnt exist before 2008
thats what youre telling me?
Thats the thing the game companies took the piss with lootboxes and they did a piss poor job of regulating themselves.
no but the concept of microtransactions as we know them didnt
...................
lol
mobile games sold premium content outright, fifa did gambling premium content
@YeetshirtNinja I mean yeah, chronologically. but in terms of influence I think the first really big mobile MTX heavy game was clash of clans in 2011-2012?
(x) doubt
card packs were an innovation
And then they are going to complain why governments clamp down on them.
LOL
OUBT

If we're talking about gambling then Fifa did it first
nah MTX was massive all the way back online @coattailsandbowties
but card packs was FIFA in 2008
can you cite a specific example? like the monetisation models between a game like candy crush and EA games post 2008 are wildly different
mmo's did it before fifa as well in the gaming market iirc
CC only sells extra lives as far as I know, whereas (again, AFAIK) EA p. much created the loot box
yeetshirt
I mean really games like the sims were the first to capitalise on the whole "pay for extra content in the same game" kinda thing, as far as I'm aware. MMOs might have gotten there sooner but I don't know too much about them.
