expansionist wars are never justified
So you're saying when we are attacked, that isn't justification for war?
that is a justification for war
most wars weren't fought for that purpose
Same as a State
God has ordered war because the rival nation was corrupting Israelites morally
and 90% of the time you can drive off an invader with many other methods
besides war
No you can't
You literally cannot
sure, when God speaks to you and tells you to go to war again i'll be in the front lines
until then i'm not a warmongerer
God gave us the just war clause
and even if we come to war, war isn't a good
war can be used as say, an evil for the prevention of greater evils
but it's never in itself a good thing
unless of course God commands it
examples from the old testament are arguably futile; because the "chosen people" status is lost
God wont command
no nation has priveleges over another nation
lol
You must say that Christ is not a pacifist though
You may personally advocate pacifism because you haven't read the bible or tradition
I've read the Bible
But I've demonstrated God has no prohibitions on justice
at least the gosples i have
You don't have a holistic approach
Jesus used violence to cleanse the temple did he not?
yes He has
Violence is not intrinsically bad
Stopping evil is good, not fighting evil with evil
Fighting evil with evil is prohibited
Yet we see violence is not
This doesn't mean it's universally ok
why does He then command us to turn the other cheek? all of the verses that you cite about the usage of the "sword" are very metaphoric and could be interpreted differently
i've always taken sword in "i've come to bring a sword" as meaning justice
Christ is bringing justice to the world, and Christians are fighting every day, though battles not physical but spiritual
Evil and Good does not inherently exist
are you a non-denominational.
Same as what is Normal or Unnormal
