Thats how it works in the court of laws anyway

2020-02-04 17:40:14 UTC

the criminal doesn’t have a charge until there is hard evidence of proof .

2020-02-04 17:49:05 UTC

So what should we believe in?

2020-02-04 17:49:37 UTC

Humanism

2020-02-04 17:49:53 UTC

The thing that started the enlightenment period

2020-02-04 17:50:20 UTC

Being good people without the need for divine intervention

2020-02-04 17:50:32 UTC

Understanding that we are all humans

2020-02-04 17:50:44 UTC

We all have feelings

2020-02-04 17:51:13 UTC

basically christain philsophy without the god part

2020-02-04 17:51:27 UTC

its amazing

2020-02-04 17:51:56 UTC

Because people can do good without some figure in the sky telling them so

2020-02-04 17:52:41 UTC

there's no reason for anyone to buy your worldview if there isn't a God

2020-02-04 17:52:45 UTC

Religion is probably the reason for 80% of all conflict ex. the crusades, protestant massacars and muslim bombings

2020-02-04 17:52:49 UTC

not saying that's a good reason to argue God exists

2020-02-04 17:52:51 UTC

There is

2020-02-04 17:52:53 UTC

but it just is

2020-02-04 17:52:56 UTC

there's absolutely none

2020-02-04 17:53:10 UTC

religon is disease that can do way more harm than good

2020-02-04 17:53:24 UTC

worthless statement

2020-02-04 17:53:29 UTC

but I also respect the fact that it will always exist.

2020-02-04 17:53:33 UTC

meaningless i should say

2020-02-04 17:53:47 UTC

And that there are good believers

2020-02-04 17:53:50 UTC

Fuck

2020-02-04 17:53:53 UTC

why

2020-02-04 17:54:16 UTC

it will always exist because at a deep level you realize that a moral system cannot exist without religion

2020-02-04 17:54:22 UTC

unless it's some social contract-tier bullshit

2020-02-04 17:55:10 UTC

in a meaningless existence there is absolutely no reason why anyone should ascribe to any form of morality no matter how "well" you argue it or how arbitrarily well our society would function under it

2020-02-04 17:55:56 UTC

they may ascribe to it because of social contract but then they aren't really believing this morality, they're just accepting it for their own practicality

2020-02-04 17:56:13 UTC

it can though

2020-02-04 17:56:20 UTC

there can be morals without god

2020-02-04 17:56:25 UTC

there literally can't

2020-02-04 17:56:29 UTC

how can you define morals without God?

2020-02-04 17:57:04 UTC

let's just do a thought experiment. give me something that's in your eyes objectively moral

2020-02-04 17:57:19 UTC

since from what i can tell, you're arguing that objective morality exists without God

2020-02-04 17:58:42 UTC

you see, murdering each other will stop our species from reproducing, so those who do it kinda die out in evolution.

2020-02-04 17:58:48 UTC

oof

2020-02-04 17:58:51 UTC

bad internet

2020-02-04 17:59:01 UTC

and why should i give a shit about our species?

2020-02-04 18:01:11 UTC

Morals, but without god: A general behavior pattern that helps our species not die out, as is the only goal in life every single living creature shares, to keep our species alive. also, we have feelings, if those feelings are hurt, we don't like it. and if most people share the same feelings about something, they call it immoral, and some people with a god-complex call it immmoral even if only they don't like it.

2020-02-04 18:01:27 UTC

no you're being silly

2020-02-04 18:01:38 UTC

i don't have to care at all about what other people feel
