Have I said slavery is intrinsically wrong?

It's wrong in our context, and intrinsically wrong in the way we practiced it

2020-02-17 22:11:40 UTC

Morality is subjective

2020-02-17 22:11:57 UTC

There is no such thing as true objective morality.

2020-02-17 22:12:12 UTC

How's that?

2020-02-17 22:12:24 UTC

My point is that traditionalism isn't a personal way of life, it's a social prescription. So when you say "Christian traditionalist" I have to prod the fuck out of you to see if you really want all of Christianity back or if you actually just want something else but think you want Christianity back. Traditionalism gets dark really fast. With things like food and holidays, it's easier for you to say:
"I like some of the unique things different cultures brings to the world and how we can gather to enjoy them".
That's the worldview I've taken away so far from the information I've gathered

2020-02-17 22:12:55 UTC

@moira holy fuck you down even know about the fulfillment of the old law?

2020-02-17 22:13:13 UTC

@Coldfish that's a strong claim, support it

2020-02-17 22:14:17 UTC

@moira I'll explain what traditionalism is and isn't when I get back

2020-02-17 22:14:33 UTC

you will probably argue for a reformation of it, rather than traditional values

2020-02-17 22:14:44 UTC

Not at all

2020-02-17 22:15:11 UTC

I'm avidly pro patriarchy, hierarchy, chastity, etc

2020-02-17 22:15:18 UTC

Reformation means changing the values when I say that

2020-02-17 22:15:25 UTC

I know

2020-02-17 22:15:33 UTC

But I'm out for now

Being a traditionalist in general is bad. Imagine how bad Christian Traditionalism is.

2020-02-17 22:19:08 UTC

I'm no Christian but I think that Traditions exist for a good reason

2020-02-17 22:19:10 UTC

Especially when Christian Traditionalists encourage the return of the values of the first century AC.

2020-02-17 22:19:56 UTC

Traditions are fine, and it's good to have them, but Traditionalists don't really care about eating turkey on Thanksgiving. What they mostly care for, is the return of traditional/conservative values.

2020-02-17 22:22:55 UTC

wow good job

2020-02-17 22:22:58 UTC

you figured it all out

2020-02-17 22:25:02 UTC

If you want to try and hurt my feelings, then cope harder. The channel is dedicated to debates regarding religion, and uncensorable insults, as well as ironies, shitposting, and generally being a jerk and therefore destroying the conversation/debate is not allowed. You can do so in <#587015719141507102>.

2020-02-17 22:25:57 UTC

There is no conversation, you just described what traditionalism is, and acted like no one knew that before ya

2020-02-17 22:26:04 UTC

but alright, i apologize for hurting your feelings

2020-02-17 22:27:34 UTC

There was a conversation going on, I never acted the way you describe, you're the one who's actually salty for getting deported twice, but I will not give you attention no more. Consider yourself warned.

2020-02-17 22:28:19 UTC

Not salty, i just gave an adequate response

2020-02-17 22:28:27 UTC

lets just stop

2020-02-17 22:33:18 UTC

@Koninos On very basic level, yes i agree, but then when you say you're a Christian traditionalist... Also imagine arguing for slavery. Slavery in antiquity and the classical period was pretty awful, so awful in fact that serfdom was a major upgrade for most of the population in Mediterranean

2020-02-17 23:26:34 UTC

@moira serfdom is a step up from what we have now... we work more, we marry later, have less kids, spend much less time with family, it's horrible now.

2020-02-17 23:27:01 UTC

Even in the American system slaves worked less than the free poor man.

2020-02-17 23:27:10 UTC

Try and put yourself in perspective

2020-02-17 23:27:40 UTC

The old law isn't binding any longer, but if you are trying to judge biblical slavery, our wage cage system is worse now

2020-02-17 23:28:11 UTC

But if you think we are arguing pro slavery, you're not listening

2020-02-18 03:04:14 UTC

Hope they suffer the worse

2020-02-18 07:31:49 UTC

@Eoppa I mean, are you in the working world?

2020-02-18 07:32:07 UTC

Because now is pretty much the best time to be a worker at any point in human history
