They didn't defy anything
slavery used to be part of the culture, so you yourself, as a Christian traditionalist, harken back to the olden days of the empire built upon slave labor in the name of Jesus and his desciples
Except, you wish for Christian traditionalism
You yourself just said the bible never explicitly states its right or wrong, so they couldn't defy it by abolishing it
That specific kind doesn't safeguard one from slavery
The American slave system was beyond heretical
Biblical slavery was much closer to modern employment
Not quite the same of course
still you needed to break tradition to say that slavery is wrong, unjust, and should always be fought against
you're a Christian traditionalist, right?
Why not just be a Christian? And you can practice your traditions as you please without making others do so as well?
I mean, I don't believe you when you say food and Christmas. And saying "Christianity" is so vague that it asks whole other set of who, what, where, when, why, and how?
I'm getting off topic lol
Have I said slavery is intrinsically wrong?
based
It's wrong in our context, and intrinsically wrong in the way we practiced it
Morality is subjective
There is no such thing as true objective morality.
How's that?
My point is that traditionalism isn't a personal way of life, it's a social prescription. So when you say "Christian traditionalist" I have to prod the fuck out of you to see if you really want all of Christianity back or if you actually just want something else but think you want Christianity back. Traditionalism gets dark really fast. With things like food and holidays, it's easier for you to say:
"I like some of the unique things different cultures brings to the world and how we can gather to enjoy them".
That's the worldview I've taken away so far from the information I've gathered
you will probably argue for a reformation of it, rather than traditional values
Not at all
I'm avidly pro patriarchy, hierarchy, chastity, etc
Reformation means changing the values when I say that
I know
But I'm out for now

Being a traditionalist in general is bad. Imagine how bad Christian Traditionalism is.
I'm no Christian but I think that Traditions exist for a good reason
Especially when Christian Traditionalists encourage the return of the values of the first century AC.
yes

Traditions are fine, and it's good to have them, but Traditionalists don't really care about eating turkey on Thanksgiving. What they mostly care for, is the return of traditional/conservative values.
wow good job
you figured it all out

There is no conversation, you just described what traditionalism is, and acted like no one knew that before ya
