**Daily Religion Question.** ✝️
*Why is homosexuality a sin? Do people choose to be homosexuals?*

I think that homosexuality goes against the very nature of the family. Daily is the smallest cell of a society and has to be protected dearly, and homosexuality is incompatible with the traditional family. I do not believe that it is a choice though I would not know and I think gays should be allowed to have civil unions should they want to but these should not be mistaken for a marriage, a union between man and woman

2020-03-30 19:47:30 UTC

Sex is unitive and procreative, having it without one or the other is a perversion of the act and sinful.

2020-03-30 19:48:05 UTC

@Eoppa where do you derive that from?

2020-03-30 19:48:10 UTC

@Krusader civil unions between homosexuals shouldn't be allowed because it encourages the sinful activity.

2020-03-30 19:48:21 UTC

I'm a Catholic @Royal Chaotic

2020-03-30 19:48:36 UTC

Where does it say that sex is unitive and procreative? @Eoppa i mean

2020-03-30 19:48:56 UTC

Also does that mean that any sex that doesnt result in babys is sinful?

2020-03-30 19:48:56 UTC

I think from a purely pragmatic standpoint, making something illegal doesn't really prevent it from happening

2020-03-30 19:49:28 UTC

@Royal Chaotic ```Sexual pleasure is morally disordered when sought for itself, isolated from its procreative and unitive purposes```

2020-03-30 19:49:51 UTC

And no, but you can't purposefully prevent the child

2020-03-30 19:49:53 UTC

I’ve come full circle.

2020-03-30 19:49:55 UTC

naw shit

2020-03-30 19:50:19 UTC

Is that from the bible @Eoppa ? And why not

2020-03-30 19:50:20 UTC

@Krusader but you shouldn't take part in someone's stumbling and codify it into law.

2020-03-30 19:50:27 UTC

@Royal Chaotic that's from the catechism

2020-03-30 19:51:03 UTC

Sure you can. These people don't have a choice and we shouldn't punish them for something they do not have any control over

2020-03-30 19:51:06 UTC

What catechism? And why is no child sex not sinful?

2020-03-30 19:52:46 UTC

It unprocreative after all, also does that mean that if you are infertile you cant have sex @Eoppa

2020-03-30 19:53:10 UTC

You shouldn't marry if you are infertile

2020-03-30 19:53:32 UTC

And sex while *purposefully* preventing that end is sinful

2020-03-30 19:53:52 UTC

Like contraception

2020-03-30 19:53:59 UTC

Or especially abortion

2020-03-30 19:55:01 UTC

@Eoppa but why isn't sex that bears no children which is unprocreative also not a sin

2020-03-30 19:55:15 UTC

@Krusader we have a choice to not adulter. They have a choice to not be a sodomite.

2020-03-30 19:55:39 UTC

They have a choice to not do things but they don't have the choice to nor want to do such

Marriage isn't specific to Christianity

2020-03-30 19:56:02 UTC

The purposeful prevention is the sin. It is still ordered to procreation.

Nor should it be state controlled

Therefore uh, gays should be able to marry

And have it be recognized as such

2020-03-30 19:56:15 UTC

@✧☽ 𝒹 𝓇 𝑒 𝒶 𝓂 𝒾 𝓃 𝑔 ☾✧ no other religion nor state has the sacrament of marriage.

2020-03-30 19:56:16 UTC

Nobody gives a fuck about things that aren't Christianity
