ye
Trickle down exists in the sense that people have enacted policies with trickle down effects in mind
Like yeah no one thinks it works, but then why do we see it in action
It worked to a degree in the 80's.
Every class was making bank back then, everybody
Until the economy slows down/crashes
Trickle down economics in the 80s was financed by a sizable increase in total debt

@wahx No it doesn't
there is no school of economic thought called "trickle down economics" nor is there any policies that exist.
@Leo (BillNyeLand) I don't know what you mean by "financed", considering the tax cuts ended up increasing the tax revenue, the only reason the debt increased was huge spending hikes by Reagan.
@Я миска риса But why does the economy slow down and crash? It is not natural, but government induced.
Eustace is right, but that boom was going to come to the end, there always was going to be a bust due to the very nature of the Federal reserve and it's manipulation of interest rates. If let to the free market, there would be no boom and busts. There would not even be a recession naturally, the likely cause of any recession would be a natural disaster etc. The very reason these boom and busts happen is the manipulation of interest rates and cheap credit polices by the federal reserve, it's not even the FED itself but all central banks. The government entities like these do not have the adequate or enough information to make such centrally planned decisions and are generally inefficient. In a free market, interest rates would be controlled by the market forces, which is perfectly fine.
In a free market, interest rates would reflect the savings. Like supply and demand , the increased supply of savings will decrease the price of the savings (interest rates) and vice versa. Leading to supply and demand, @Neco2040
It exists everywhere
You must have a very high iq
Supply and demand is everywhere, in the labour market, oil market and money/savings market.
Supply and demand doesn't just apply to goods, it's why raising the minimum wage decreased employment and such. There is a shortage of demand and an excess in supply.
Dude, giving lots of tax cuts to rich people does not grow the economy
cutting taxes to corporations does
and income taxes barely affect the rich as their money comes from capital gains
@Я миска риса holy shit dude you’re an NPC
Tax cuts to everyone help
Since the rich people save more, and saving grows the economy
For them to save more they need more money so cut taxes
Not to mention more of an incentive to create jobs and invest
The rich get richer and the poor have been getting richer
The middle class has shrunk and the upper class has grown
And nobody is saying only give tax cuts to the rich so stop making straw man arguments up
NPC? @sɪᴅɪsɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀᴇ
yes
But that’s unimportant
The rest of the argument is
What does that mean is what I’m asking
Don’t worry about it
Okay
But anyways
The point is tax cuts help
And have throughout the past
