Presumption of innocence is moral in all situations

Let me think of an example

Ok as an example of a situation in which conservatives ignored presumption of innocence: the invasion of Iraq because we suspected they had weapons of mass destruction. This isn’t an example of when presumption of innocence is immoral (it was moral in this case) but it is an example of conservatives flip flopping on this issue.

Still thinking of a time where presumption of innocence didn’t work on an international scale.

We invaded Iraq because they launched an act of war upon our nation

But they had extreme ties to it

And supported terror groups

Ok but you realize how ironic that was right

When the ally your defending was the demographic that actually did 9/11

And just murdered a journalist

They just happened to be from Saudi Arabia

Its like if an American commits a crime

It wasn’t the government

True, I’m not saying it was their government, just pointing out your irony

Also in the same vein... it wasn’t the Iraqi government

All I am saying is that we should preserve all allies we have

How about this: the holocaust. Very little was known for a while about what the Germans were doing with their internment camps. Should we have applied the presumption of innocence to them?

We should have done an investigation

Ok so we should preserve Canada and the EU

If they take advantage then no

Saudi Arabia just took advantage in a huge way

Also, we may never get more evidence than what we currently have

Countries that are allies with China

China has done some bad things

But it is a strong ally to have

We need to have strong allies in Asia

In Europe all they do is take advantage of us
