Hmm, divorce channel does not seem very popular. I can understand, such a horrible process, can't wait till it's all over. I got charged $50 just for an email exchange, fml

2019-02-07 17:24:16 UTC

It's a support channel, so it's usually used to give support when people need it

2019-02-07 17:25:24 UTC

Also oof, seriously? Lawyers are expensive :<

2019-02-07 17:26:24 UTC

yeah I was charged $80 for speaking with my lawyer's secretary for 30 seconds

2019-02-07 17:26:28 UTC

fuck lawyers

2019-02-07 17:32:02 UTC

Damn...

2019-02-07 21:13:40 UTC

That's retarded bruh

2019-02-08 00:14:21 UTC

Wife file a tpo on me for stalking . I go to court and she has no proof. Judge dropped it. the look on her face priceless.

2019-02-08 02:13:28 UTC

Nice!

2019-02-08 02:15:17 UTC

That's still a concern though if the divorce court decides it has some kind of merit

2019-02-08 05:26:27 UTC

What I've heard suggests that generally that trick only works if the order goes through

2019-02-08 05:40:43 UTC

I remember hearing one particular case where they kept getting the order extended by delaying the court date due to the wife saying they can't attend for whatever reason to give testimony. I can't name a case offhand where they site allegations that went unproven as evidence of a hostile environment for the kids and such, but I think they exist

2019-02-08 16:18:55 UTC

@Maxthx that sounds sketchy as hell, with the secretary? How did they itemize it on your bill?

2019-02-08 16:20:37 UTC

I called the secretary about being confused because my paperwork kept referring to a document that I was supposed to have but didn't, however I realized during the conversation with her that the document didn't exist because of other reasons

2019-02-08 16:20:50 UTC

apparently that was taken as an inquiry into the paperwork

2019-02-08 16:21:03 UTC

even though she technically didn't help, but even speaking with her about the subject automatically billed me

2019-02-08 16:21:26 UTC

and they only bill by the hour, so the second she picked up the phone I was charged for the full hour, no matter how long the conversation took

2019-02-08 16:22:17 UTC

basically beauracracy

2019-02-08 16:50:18 UTC

Wow, why is this practice still even legal? Pls tell me you were exaggerating @Maxthx. Unless my math is messed up which happens a lot that's $9600/hr

2019-02-08 16:50:52 UTC

no its $80 an hour 😛 they just change for a full hour no matter how much of that hour you use

2019-02-08 16:50:56 UTC

its still legal because whenever someone tries to speak out against it, they are branded as "right wing incels"

2019-02-08 16:50:58 UTC

like if I use 10 minutes they charge 1 hour

2019-02-08 16:51:09 UTC

its like phone minutes

2019-02-08 16:51:15 UTC

Fuck that, okmy bad

2019-02-08 16:51:16 UTC

if you use 10 seconds it counts as 1 minute

2019-02-08 16:51:46 UTC

Ok that's how my attorney charges

2019-02-08 16:51:49 UTC

but yeah lawyering is a racket

2019-02-08 16:53:57 UTC

I been using email exclusively, read that's the best way to do it. That way I can carefully select my questions to ask and send all at once

2019-02-08 16:54:49 UTC

Fuck that man, anyone wanna start a law firm with me?

2019-02-08 16:56:04 UTC

technically to be legally allowed to charge people you need to go to lawschool

2019-02-08 16:56:12 UTC

which is also a racket

2019-02-08 16:56:29 UTC

we should start a male exclusive university though

2019-02-08 16:56:56 UTC

been thinking about that awhile now actually... since boys are so left behind and persecuted in higher education right now

2019-02-08 17:05:57 UTC

Ya, I'm not being entirely serious, just shocked and angry at this racket, call me naive. But fuck it, someone get an online law degree and I'll be your fucking secretary that gets paid $80 an hour for 30 seconds of bullshit

2019-02-08 19:19:30 UTC

That secretary probably doesn't get anywhere near that, probably goes to the firm

2019-02-13 21:30:08 UTC

Anyone knows a lawyer in the Orlando, Florida area that can help me with an injunction. Seem like everyone trying to charge me an outrageous amount

2019-02-13 23:10:57 UTC

Its really mind blowing how much these lawyers charge just for one court day. Im innocent so its so frustrating to get quotes of 3k and up for one court date

2019-02-13 23:11:42 UTC

It really does seem horrid :<

2019-02-13 23:12:28 UTC

There's no chance of getting any kind of legal aid? Or can you recover costs from the other side somehow if you can prove your innocence beyond doubt?

2019-02-13 23:34:59 UTC

Meow

2019-02-13 23:54:58 UTC

The problem is fronting the money to get one . The chances of her paying is low with her sad sorry she present
