Most of us have probably already seen that, but I watch it about once a year to remind myself what we are fighting. That's not even the only show that had to launch a (sniggering) apology about women giggling because this woman castrated her husband and nearly killed him.

2018-11-24 14:00:17 UTC

@Skellious you are so right. It is sick.

2018-11-24 14:05:55 UTC

There was a thing about teaching circumcision written by a nurse on the Reddit, and they literally don't care how much pain the boy is in. Or how bad they screw up his dick.

2018-11-24 19:41:53 UTC

Look at all the people just flat out assuming he beat and abused her from one photo....

2018-11-24 19:44:02 UTC

"If he’s begging her forgiveness we don’t know what he did. She could be in the right." Is correct. It's not really right for us to speculate either way

2018-11-24 20:08:12 UTC

I don't think the post is meant to illustrate he's not guilty of something during the marriage, only to show that people assume he is guilty

2018-11-24 20:08:18 UTC

@turbulance4 read a bit further down.

2018-11-24 20:11:43 UTC

From one photo they get everything from black eyes covered by sunglasses to a lifetime of abuse. I'm not even saying it isn't true - only that it's a whopping assumption and that she could just as easily be the abuser. Only they downvote everyone who even says that it's an assumption.

2018-11-25 07:42:39 UTC

Isn't it that in most abusive relations that both partners are at fault? that violence reciprocates violence?

2018-11-25 07:43:25 UTC

AFAIK yes

2018-11-25 08:25:46 UTC

A lot of times violence is mutual

2018-11-25 08:25:48 UTC

Yup

2018-11-29 19:59:01 UTC

Honestly, we should do one of those civil disobedience things where every man paying alimony, child support, or spousal support should just stop paying and accept the consequences
And then just check in on how the women and their children are doing, since obviously they still have jobs and are making money
Would be a great wake-up call

2018-11-29 20:00:21 UTC

Only thing to work out is how we move our money somewhere the government can't take it

2018-11-29 20:01:26 UTC

Violence is almost never one sided in a relationship

2018-11-30 11:39:47 UTC
2018-11-30 11:39:59 UTC

define "almost never"

2018-11-30 18:02:49 UTC

I think the civil disobedience thing is a great idea. Maybe call it 'Men on Strike' or 'Slaves to Divorce' or something.

2018-12-01 01:00:33 UTC

Actually, I was thinking about it last night, and I've got a perfect way to make it work

2018-12-01 01:00:48 UTC

Just have everyone go overseas, and then stop paying

2018-12-01 01:01:00 UTC

Make the government try to extradite every last one of them

2018-12-01 01:01:10 UTC

That would definitely get some attention

2018-12-01 01:04:28 UTC

How do you figure that those paying child support from poor backgrounds are able to afford flights or travel when all their money is taken directly out of their pay cheque.

Many wouldn't go and be apart from whatever limited access to their children gives them.

The government would also seize whatever assets they may leave behind.

Nowhere near enough people would ever do it.

2018-12-01 01:04:43 UTC

They'd seize them if they stayed here too

2018-12-01 01:05:30 UTC

In all cases? No, they'd only seize those that couldn't pay, they wouldn't seize when they just pay unreasonable amounts but can pay it

2018-12-01 01:05:49 UTC

And honestly, I have some steps. Sell all your property, move all your money to a foreign bank account, and then leave

2018-12-01 01:05:58 UTC

I honestly feel like more people would do it that way

2018-12-01 01:06:30 UTC

I mean who genuinely wants to lose all their assets, have their wages garnished, face tens of thousands in debt, and go to jail?

2018-12-01 01:06:51 UTC

We can at least try to make it hard for the government to get anything out of it

2018-12-01 01:09:23 UTC

Once they are extradited, all of that will happen, where it may not happen otherwise.

You might get some people to do this but the monumental task if getting them all to do it at the same time is unrealistic

2018-12-01 01:09:45 UTC

Also, if you hit the government in the wallet, which what I'm describing definitely will, that'll be taken more seriously

2018-12-01 01:10:05 UTC

You know how much it costs to extradite every last person paying child support or alimony in the US?

2018-12-01 01:10:20 UTC

You've gotta go through the legal procedure and pay to have them flown back

2018-12-01 01:10:23 UTC

and then put them in jail

2018-12-01 01:10:35 UTC

For every single one of them

2018-12-01 01:10:40 UTC

The costs would be monumental

2018-12-01 01:11:20 UTC

I imagine the government wouldn't even do it. The costs would probably outweigh the benefit of seizing a bunch of poor people's bank accounts

2018-12-01 01:12:00 UTC

Who's gonna pay for the poor people to leave the country and the costs of living in another one? You?

2018-12-01 01:12:48 UTC

I'm not rich, but I bet I could find someone who could assist in funding people who can't afford a plane ticket and a few months' rent

2018-12-01 01:13:52 UTC

Plane tickets aren't so expensive these days either, so if you go somewhere else and get a job there, I bet you'd be fine
